Incredible classic HW98 springer!

A couple of dime size groups at 30 yards! Pcp's accuracy in a spring gun. Based on the HW95 action with adjustable stock and barrel sleeve. I have really enjoyed this rifle. Excellent quality and shootability. One I am proud to own. Groups shot with cheap Walmart crossman pellets. It's a good thing because the rifle itself was quite an outlay. Also shot in pretty stiff Oklahoma winds. Beautiful day otherwise.

No, it does not quiet the gun. It cuts down on vibration and steadies the barrel on firing. I have 18 great quality springers. This one rates in the top 3. With the tx 200, LGU. The LGU is the easiest to shoot well. It is very forgiving. The HW98 is the lightest and easiest to load but you have to be very consistent with your hold. Takes 400 or so shots to notice reduction in vibration and things smoothing out and finding your groove. Shoots well from sticks. The LGU shot great out of the box. Literally no break in period.

WOW, AS I FONDLE MY HW97 WITH A THUMBHOLE WAITING AT THE DOOR FOR HOPE AOA DELIVERS MY HW30 ONE DAY EARLIER WONDERING WHAT WILL BE MY NEXT SPRINGER. I AM NOT NEW TO GUNS ,BUT NEW TO QUALITY AIR RIFLES . I ,BEFORE I GET INTO ( AND MAY NEVER) PCP WOULD LOVE TO OWN A GREAT SELECTION OF SPRINGERS. ALL THE WEIHRACHS,A DIANA THUMBHOLE AND A AIR ARMS SPRINGER.
AM I NORMAL?

shawnlyndy,

Lovely :)

I have the HW95 Super Match, which is a 95 action in a 98 stock, with the barrel shroud, and grooved for iron sights up front.

In effect a 98 for iron sights.

The 95/98 are superb rifles, and shoot beautifully - so accurate - mine really likes 4.52 JSB Express (7.88 gr.)

For best balance in shooting cycle, the 95/98 have slightly too long a stroke - short-stroking them 10 to 15 mm makes the shot cycle sublime.

Have fun & a good weekend :)

Best regards

Russ
