Increasing Power on a regulated gun

If you have a gun that's regulated, what are the ways to increase power? I know turning up the regulator will increase power. What about increasing the tension on the hammer spring? Since the gun is regulated, would that still increase power or not? Would one both increased the regulated pressure and the tension on the hammer spring? The reason I'm asking is because I want to get a .25 rifle that will shoot both the king heavies and the regular kings. I thought of the Royale 500 with the power wheel adjustments, shooting the heavies on high and the regular kings on medium, but the power would have to be turned up. So, how to do it? Also, would I be better off getting this rifle unregulated? Would that make power adjustments easier? Any input on this would be appreciated.

Sometimes you can get a gain in velocity on a regulated gun just by increasing the hammer energy some. I think it's going to depend on how it was tuned originally though. I'm able to tweak a little more power out of my 25 Cricket by increasing the hammer spring tension. There are limits though. I just purchased a FX 500 from a guy here on the forum that is unregulated and without the power adjuster and I was figuring I was going to need a regulator installed to get it to where I would really like it more. With a 500cc bottle out front, trust me, you'll get a lot of shots that near regulator performance. You'll just have to get the power where you want it and find the sweet spot "plateau" of the string. Mine flattens out around the 890-905 range shooting 25.4's. When I first got the gun it was shooting around 860 and with 3/4 of a turn CW on the hammer spring its now peaking at about 905 range. Hope this helps a little.

Regulated FX rifles are set from the factory to shoot really good and consistent. And smooth twist barrels really are designed to shoot jsb's as in ONLY. Guns are tuned from the factory, you could say towards particular speeds and pellet. So what you get with FX is more like a match rifle that you can hunt with and shoot great groups on paper targets.

If you want a raw power rifle order a .25 or .257 custom build Condor that shoots at 150fpe or more. It will give you more options as far as mods go and all the power you need. But with FX you get to just shoot good out of the box to just enjoy it. They are great all around package rifles, that are very accurate, consistent out of the box, beautiful to look at and to hold too.

Another option if you want power and FX quality, is to get a Daystate Air Ranger 80 fpe version in .25, it is an unregulated gun, build like a tank, that out of the bx shoots good also on higher fills from 250-190 bar. But that can be worked on if you choose so.

But with FX I would stick with factory settings, and just enjoy. They are that good, believe me.
