INCOMING RAPTOR MINI!!!

I can help alittle with tuning. I believe max on the reg is 3000psi. Ok so large hex in the back is strictly hammer spring adjustment. Small set screw on the side locks the hammer screw adjuster in place when done. Then there's the hammer buffer adjustment which uses shoot can't remember if it's a 5/32 hex or one size up. That's the tricky one. Too far CCW and the hammer won't hit the valve. Which on mine I just started full CW and backed it out about 1 turn? I can't remember. 2 turns CCW and the hammer didn't hit the valve.

Thank you, that makes total sense! Where is that ~5/32 hammer buffer adjuster located?

It's inside the hammer. What I do is cock the gun to bring the hammer back and then stick it through the hammer spring adjustment screw and you'll feel it in there.

Got it! My long 4mm T hex key seems to be nice and snug on that one. Man I'm dying to disassemble this thing so I know what all I'm looking at 😅

Yea the 4MM head screw on buffer adjustment has some serious thread binder goop on it making it VERY stiff to rotate. On purpose !!!

Is that purple Loctite or something like 518 (or rubber cement maybe)? I'm going to remove my barrel soon to take measurements so I can setup a longer TJ blank for it, but if I'm right - I shouldn't have to mess with the buffer settings.

Speaking of barrel removal, my understanding is there is an o-ring (of unknown size) atop of the TP under the barrel port. This tells me that I might need to separate the block from the tube in order to get the barrel out, is that right? If so, I'd like to validate the (minimal) steps that I believe would be involved to remove the barrel:

  1. Depressurize the system
  2. Remove the barrel shroud
  3. Remove the Buffer tube and stock
  4. Loosen / remove the hammer set screw
  5. Remove the hammer and spring
  6. Cock the lever back and remove the flat head screw on top of the mag well
  7. Remove the (4) vertical block screws from the block
  8. Loosen the (3) screws holding the barrel
  9. Remove the barrel
    [/LIST=1]

What I'm not sure of is that transfer port nipple between the barrel port and the valve opening. Does that guy need to come out so that (1) the o-ring can be inspected and (2) the o-ring can be replaced and re-installed? 🤔

remove air stripper, slide shroud off.

take out the 3 barrel set screws on the top of the breech and pull barrel out.

no need to de gas the gun to pull the barrel out.

Yup very very simple. Unscrew air stripper pull shroud then 3 set screws and it's ready to go just pull barrel

I tried that to see if it would come out easily, but it was in there pretty good and wouldn't budge with moderate force. At that point, I felt it was wise to leave it alone in case there's an o-ring compressed against the barrel (via the piece in the block that connects the valve port seen in Travis's video).

I believe Travis said he used liquid electrical tape on the buffer threads.

Interesting idea!!! I need test that out on something else lol, I wonder how long it would hold up? 🤔

Please let us know a shot count, ive asked jsar about shot count in the .30 forever and have never got a response. Kind of annoying..

I finally ran a shot count test, gun is not fine tuned. 50 shots total. Reg set to 2050, mostly unsorted 44.75gr JSBs. 0-44 were 865-880fps. 45-49 were in the 850's, but my reg gauge read 1800psi when I looked on shot 48 (bottle gauge read 2050-2100'ish). shot 49 was 859, and 50 clearly fell off at 836.

Ok, now here is what is damn amazing - I loaded the first few of the third mag with last 3 sorted 44.75gr (weighing 44.70) that I had, with head size 7.70mm.

  • Shot 19 was 870.10
  • Shot 20 was 870.10
  • Shot 21 was 870.15!

If that isn't consistent, then I don't know what is 👍

Thank you! That’s a 300cc tank right? Pretty impressive shot count with a tiny barrel and smaller tank. I’d imagine the HP in .30 with 500cc tank could get results. Thank you for posting this.

Matt

350ml bottle, but I forgot to mention that I filled it to 4100 and not 4300 (my GW wasn't full). It's still decent, I had cranked up the power to shoot 49.5gr at 940fps and got 42 shots from a 4050 fill.

No clue if it will be accurate at higher power, but my 20" TJ wasn't slug picky so my hopes are high. I had also got 101FPE out of it earlier with 50.15gr 💪, but I'm just ready for this wind / rain / cold to let up some, so I can sneak out of the house past the Stazi and test it at paper!

I ordered a Law Tactical folding adapter so I can keep it short and have quicker access to the hammer settings. Putting a little Magpul MOE (also have a CTR) on it as well, so the weight should even out to about what it is with this UTG. I'm putting a Magpul grip on it too, because this grip gets COLD and my circulation sucks so I'm a little crybaby shooting with cold hands 😂
