I find myself in need of a good night hunting light or laser. My budget doesn't allow me to get a true night vision setup, so I've been looking at a few lasers/lights that mount to your scope. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the nd3 or the Elusive XLR250. My main prey is raccoons and I want a light that won't spook them. What is the best light source that won't spook the innocent woodland creatures that are in dire need of a lead headache?

I say go true IR and get an IR laser or IR illuminator. You need to get a scope cam and remove the IR filter off the emitter. Or just try the cam before removing it to see if it does need to be removed.
Now this is enticing you to get an actual cam (like a casio ) to use on the gun. Bay and get a used one or last years model cheap.

Give Wicked lights a look. The 402z, that's a zoom light. You get 3 power levels and a zoom. A one or two battery choice, red, green, or white. A gentle green light with a wide angle does not alarm rats, yet you can easily pick them up with a low priced leapers.

Im currently using a Cyclops Varmint light and it works great. Comes with red and green led modules. I use red. I have a huge opposum problem and find that they can see green light but not red.
The little Cree flashlight I was using before worked, but it was really dim and hard to see at 22 yards. Especially through a scope cam.

I looked at wicked lights and they look like it's just what I need. The max distance I need is 50 yards, so the smaller of the two lights is the way to go for me. Plus the price is very reasonable. Thanks for the info

Get the zoom, you'll find at the low setting you can use a very wide zoom. I used one on a tripod, and the other was on my gun. My shooting partner was popping rats in a barn with a 3x9 bb. We were able to light up 75 feet of wall at 25 yards.

Check out STALK TECH fury 1 red led ,has two brightness setting and is great out past 100 yds,american made by a veteran ,outstanding customer service too, I love mine ,and will be buying more from them.

Try Sniper Hawg Lights as well. Though I do not use a light on my air gun, I have two mounted on my center fire rifles for varminting. Have been very pleased with them.

I'm using the Laser Genetics ND3. Great little unit and off the gun, it's a good flashlight.

Also consider the Pulsar N550 NV scope. I slide an Air Force long adjustable rail onto my gun and mount the Pulsar on top of that. Good set up.
