In mag C02 seals on Umarex Glock 17 gen 3

I bought a Umarex Glock 17 gen 3 the other day & while loading the c02 cartrage I noticed that far more gas escaped then should have & that I bairly got 2 clips worth of firing before the bb's began jamming up & sometimes firing doubles as well as just rolling out of the end of the barrel.

So I finished emptying the co2 cartrage then removed it to inspect the handgun only to find that the little metal stem that extrudes from the center of the green seal was broken in half.

My question is what exactly is this part of the seal called??? (the little metal c02 cartrage seal breaker) & are these glock 17 gen 3 models prone to these kinds of breakages or any other known issues with the particular model?

Have a replacement coming in on a couple of days & would like to know if I'd be just better off selling it & getting a different target pinker?

That's a really nice realistic replica of the actual firearm. I collect these replica types too but as a collector and don't really shoot any of them regularly. Based on majority of the reviews for your model consensus seems mostly good so I would be happy to receive the new replacement and go and shoot it and since you bought it new it should come with a warranty for added piece of mind. My faves are the Umarex S&W 586 and 686 and the full sized Desert Eagle due to their accuracy. The cheap $50 CROSMAN CR357/Vigilante is surprisingly accurate too I was blown away being able to hit paintballs out to 15 yards. The CR357snot were on clearance at Wal-Mart for only $30 not too long ago and I bought 2 new ones since my 4 old ones shot so well. I gave the 2 away as gifts to a good buddy for teaching the kids to learn how to shoot and proper gun handling. Yo!
