The ones that do only fly at night so they can be hard to spot.

So they can’t pilot but they have the coolest guns??

Racoons are considered bandits and they even wear the mask to prove it!

When I was growing up a neighbor had a raccoon as a pet. He fed it dog food and kept in in a cage. The cage door had a wire wrapped around several times to secure it. The coon figured out how to unwind the wire. He had to get rid of it because It loved to climb onto his son's shoulder, grab his hair, and jump off.

I had an uncle that hunted them and sold their hides to pay for the food for his dogs. I got to go sometimes. He or another uncle would throw a small pack of firecrackers into a hollow tree to scare a coon out. If they had experienced that before they wouldn't come out.

He shot them with a 22lr. Sometimes they were still a little alive when they fell from the tree but the dogs took care of them.

but they can pilot drones and like to screw with people in Nebraska

Raccoons are smart enough, but their hands are too small for the cyclic stick or the collective and their legs can't reach the pedals.

The raccoons I have seen may be smart, but they all become very stupid after getting a 34g JSB to the skull. I find rats much smarter than raccoons in avoiding early termination from humans.

No problem flying an airplane as they really do want to fly, whereas normally a helicopter just doesn't. Consider it's operating environment with some six thousand odd moving parts, where any failure of just one will just destroy the plan of your day. Hey I know how about air traffic controllers? 

I swear they had raccoons flying our helos in Nam....at 2500 feet they would shut engine down and coast down and start engine just before landing in the rice paddy.
