Impacts at 236 yards

The zero had to be set high so I had enough hold over, so I figured 177 yards was a good start. Second shot was center mass on the chicken and I was stoked! Then, after peppering the chicken for a half hour, I moved out to the ram at 236 yards. It was tricky with the changing wind conditions and lobbing slugs that far. Hold over was 21 and 25 MOA with two different slugs, 50 and 55 grains, after the 177 yard zero. By the end of the shooting session the wind calmed and I rattled off a magazine hitting 12 of the 14 slugs. Five of the larger shiny spots are rifle bullet splatters.

@Long_Shot I'm pretty sure it is regulation sized because they do competition silhouette shoots at this range, and this is a permanent target. The range set-up (or my new range finder) may not be accurate to regulation distance of 200 meters, because it was 236 yards from my far bench. The ram's back to belly distance is about 12.5". I found this info on regulation silhouette sizing:

Long range slug shooting can be a lot of fun, as long as there's very calm to no wind conditions.

Your 177 yard Chicken is only a bit past 173 yard target area that I like to shoot about every day.

50-55gr. slugs?

Yes, they are both of those NSA slugs. I unconventionally measured the ram today with my boot. It has a 12.5" tall mid section, belly to back. The dimensions I found on the internet must reflect overall length and height, which would be about what the ram is. Though I can pepper both the chicken and ran, I need to do more fine tuning to shrink my group size and eliminate fliers. For some reason when I get to the range I get sidetracked from fine tuning and just see how much pinging of the steel I can do!

Shooting some NSA .30 caliber slugs in 60 grain this morning in light flurries! Untuned the Impact shot nearly MOA grouping at the ram, with the exception of a flier. The two high back shots were from finding the correct holdover. Strelok Pro says that the ballistic coefficient for them at 883 FPS is 0.08 (between the 175 yard zero and the 236 yard target).
