Impacts, air strippers and moderators?

Barring physical contact, the pellet/slug is indifferent to the presence or absence of a moderator/air stripper. These accessories are solely for the benefit of the hearing, ego, balance, etc...of the shooter. Their mere presence has never been definitively shown to have any notable affect on trajectory or accuracy.

I would venture to bet some of those bench-rest shooters would argue that point

This isn't true. A badly designed shroud on moderator will definitely have an effect on accuracy even if it isn't "clipping".

Why doesn't my Impact have an air stripper.......

I was surprised too when I took my shroud off of my MKII. Shroud is basically cosmetic. I went in another direction and got a custom shroud with proper air stripper. Very much pleased now.

Can I ask whose custom shroud/moderator you went with? I am thinking of going that route.

Shrouds have strippers in the USA some other countries do not allow them. The stripper is installed with locktight at factory so difficult to remove even with heat I found.

Pretty much what I thought would be there.

Thanks for the information and picture Biohazardman.

This part from Biohazardman picture have no real stripper only a slot to allow the air escape into the shroud tube, again better then the full solids we have.

I am trying to make this part custom dimensions with a threaded adjustable stripper that directs the air blast backward towards the gun body, because in order to fit a gun in the case the total length can not be longer max about 15 mm. (only problem is that all smaller machine shops in my neighbourhood still closed down).
