Impact Trigger Break Point and Moderator for Impact

I have a Royale 500 and the trigger is amazing. I also got an Impact and the trigger is crap. I've perused around the various forums and the tube and my impression at this point is don't mess with the settings they show in the manual and then warn against resetting them as you'll only make things worse. Seems like it's a send it back to the distributor and have them do the adjustments. I think it's stated that it's an automatic void warranty issue if done by the owner. Your thoughts and clarification would be well received.
The Impact is easier to handle than the Royale but it is significantly louder than the Impact. That also has me leaning towards some kind of moderator. Any suggestions there. I've read about the Huggett and the DanyL (?) but there doesn't seem to be many who have actually put those on the impact and measured the loudness. Thanks for any help.

Hi Jim,

I don't believe adjusting trigger on the impact will void the warranty. Few weeks ago I had regulator creep in my impact and I wanted to send it in to be fixed. I called FX USA service and spoke with Ernest and he told me that he does things differently than AOA used to do. His philosophy is to help user with guidance and instructions so they can learn their rifle and avoid shipping charges and time without it.

When I asked him if this will void warranty he said no. He is in charge of warranty for FX now and he instructed me how to fix issue myself. If I tried and failed then I could send it in.

Anyhow, here is what I can help you with regards to trigger adjustment:

1'st screw closest to the gauge is first stage travel. Screwing it in will reduce first stage.
2'nd screw right after the trigger is length of spring adjustment
3'rd screw (biggest one) is the second stage adjustment (screwing this in will make trigger lighter on second stage)
4'th screw is safety adjustment (this needs to be aligned with second stage for safety to properly work. Out too far and firle will fire on safe, in too far and safety wont engage)

I can't comment on the shroud, as telescoping shroud that I have is the quietest one I own when extended. When I shoot 177 people near me ask if I've taken the shot or not. Maybe you have bigger caliber. I've heard with fixed shroud you can add more stacks. I've also heard DonnyFl makes great silent products and he has fixed replacement shroud for Impact. May be others can chip in who own those.
