Impact Slug Barrel Kit?

While I'm waiting to hear back from vendors, does anyone know if the .22 STX barrel kits have the slug liner as either the default or as an option? I'm looking to order one, but I'd have no use for a .22 pellet barrel for this build.

At this point the barrel kits come default with a pellet liner and the slug liner is sold separately. With a large dealer network and airguns growing from the cottage business it started in and quickly growing, we at FX often have to find the balance of how many different SKUs (item numbers for dealers to order) on what is easily already the most vast product offering of any manufacture. When you consider the amount of configuration and customizing FX Airguns offer, it can be pretty intimidating for our dealers. So sometimes less is more when it comes to options offered.

Hope this helps explain the why behind it instead of just saying, "nope, we don't offer that".

Moderator, hope this was an appropriate thread for a manufacturer to chime in and answer.

When will the 700mm .22 slug/pellet liner be available in the USA?

A friend of mine has the Impact X with the STX barrel

and it shoots the my 22.5 grain very well from what

he stated it shoots a ragged hole at 35 yards and then

he shot a pigeon at 118 yards and dropped em on the spot .

Gun is at 150 bar and shooting at 920 fps and has more to give .

I'd get the 600mm slug barrel if you can but do not dismiss

the STX barrel as it can shoot slugs , and the slug barrel does

a excellent job with pellets also , best of both worlds .

Ghost,

If anyone can put a gun together for you, it's Utah Airguns. They have custom packages if you check their website or give them a call.

Bob, I already own a .30 / 700mm (arrives tomorrow). I reached out to UAG and they said I would have to buy a .22 barrel kit (pellet liner) and a slug liner separately. I have no plans to shoot .22 pellets with an X, only NSA/NSA-like slugs, hence the inquiry.

I'm fairly set on a .22 slug liner / 600mm. I was getting 1.5-2" groups Saturday with my Leshiy .25 / 350mm at 115y with 25gr JSBs. Looking for comparable accuracy (and retained FPE) to ~150-160y with at least 23gr or greater swaged lead.

It would be great to be able to purchase the parts required individually. Seems redundant to have to buy a liner that wasn't needed. Guessing this is a newer type of sales use case.

Appreciate the reply nonetheless.

Maybe when the demand for all this slows down a bit, individual parts might become available to us....who knows.

SmoothTwist X is only about one year old. With the Wildcat, Impact, Crown and now Dreamline with so many options available for each, I can see how it will take some time to catch up.

I'm thinking FX should drop the pellet only barrels and provide the one that shoots both.

I do too, but then I think...will that drop accuracy? since the BC is so different. I know there are some AG that shoot both, but the accuracy is above 1 MOA ... One thing I know for sure is that I want a Slug liner!!! And I can not find any around ... damn!

True!, right now the demand is higher than production probably, and since FX is committed to improve QA (with Ernest among others) everything is taking forever! now ;)
The problem is there is too many videos shooting slugs right now on FX airguns and that is KILLING ME! jajaja come on! Hurry up!

Here's a hypothetical question about parts availability and it could possibly happen. What if i accidentally buggered the threads where the barrel liner retention nut and the barrel tube make up so that both were unusable. Would FX sell me these two pieces? Oh yeah forgot to mention. I think my pellet probe is bent as well so now I need a probe too. Will FX sell me these replacement parts? Not sure if you know where I'm going with this..

jk

I inquired already about buying a sleeve separately. The answer was No, at least for now.

Maybe the other parts can be bought separately.....you'll have to check.

That actually brings up a slight dilemma that I was thinking about last night. I ordered a .22 barrel kit and a slug liner, but for convenience it would be great to be able to have both in sleeves - ready to attach without having to swap them out numerous times. I might get the itch to shoot different types of ammo in the course of any given shooting day, it'd be easier to just drop the entire thing in place with the set screw vs. going through the extra work to swap the liners out (wear and tear from frequent swapping is really the main concern).

First world problems

I've heard from a few people who say that the slug liners shoot pellets very well.

When I get mine, I'm going to try pellets through it before I think about swapping the liner.

I'd just as soon swap the liner if I want to shoot pellets rather than the whole assembly. I've pulled the liners in the WC and Crown quite a few times and never had a problem. One other thing to think of is that in order to pull the barrel assembly, you'd have to remove the scope each time if your front scope mount covers any of the barrel set screws.
