Impact shooters-what setup do you prefer?

I be honest the impact is hard for me to shoot off of a bench ( compared to a conventional rifle). The picture shows my set up. I do not like bipod The rifle is a Rem. 700 in a bench rest stock. Have to use your imagination as to how the impact would work

Im surprised you didnt mention a good Tripod - With a Swiss Arca extended rail to get the airgun nice and balanced. But you said M3, so not sure how the Sabre Tactical Swiss Arca Extended rail will work. Its great on the M2, but the block is not the same in minor but significant ways. So maybe the Tripod should be left out for the moment after all.

The trigger guard/pic rail are interchangeable between the M3 and all earlier versions of the Impact so any ST or K&L extended Impact rail would work on the M3.

That setup is Awesome! Boyd stock on that 700?

That scissor jack looks to be out of an '82 Buick and makes the package...Just a guess.

I’m not sure it’s a Boyd stock. There is a fellow who sells on eBay. I think it’s his stock. Mike’s stock. It has an aluminum bedding block built in The scissors Jack is just a generic Jack. Junk yard $5 and a little welding. I like it because it’s FAST and extremely adaptable to high or low elevations. That’s my groundhog set up. I can get “on” a hog in seconds. Not as stable as a real benchrest set up but DARN close. I can’t shoot prone and there are just to many times trying to shoot off a car hood or roof just isn’t good enough . You could do the same thing with a bipod BUT this is much faster and infinitely more adjustable. That table can also be adjusted. I can set it up so I can shoot pigeons off silos using the same set up. None of this is my original idea

Gents,

Bipod, rear bag, and a Bag Rider. But, as a long time bag squeezer(!), I found the Bag Rider got hung-up in the bags and didn't move up or down as smoothly and easily as I wished. This lead to a quick brainstorming session, followed by a trip to the milling machine. This is what I came up with...

Makes a WORLD of difference on how it rides the bags. Well...at least to me it does.

Justin that’s MUCH better then the saber

I would not agree for my use. I use the full bag rider length while shooting at various negative angles and distances and I see a couple of snags taking place doing that. However, I have been known to strap a slick surface to the top of my bag, so I do see the point in the modification to the bag rider.

Just received my M3, and in comparison there is a larger bore in the block of the M3 for the First regulator, which compromises the screw depth that is available. The forward two screws are not so well anchored, as using adequate length screws would violate the first regulator. Just wondering if there will be a better solution to this. I really like the Swiss arca and extended rail to balance the airgun on the tripod. The short Picatinny does not allow attachment to my tripod as the carbon bottle and forward trigger guard are too tight. Maybe I can find a shorter Picatinny mounting plate for the tripod and use what it has. Just wish the Sabre Tactics or FX could come up wit a solution, such as a wider block and wider trigger guard. Anyone else try to make it work?
