Impact, Riddle me this.

1. how do you keep the hammer wheel screw set tight. mine loosen after a couple magazines. in the past ( before I had it rebuilt by Ken) I used LOCTITE, nail polish, , white out,. nothing works.

2. after nearly 3 years of shooting Annie (gen 2 , 25 cal. ) 700 barrel. original 600 barrel was bad. had waffles in the grooves. I was proud new daddy and didn't know to to take care of the baby. I think the reg was too high @ 135 originally. Huma Reg. ( the FX reg just jumped everywhere) I have put the mark II 34 away and went back to 25 g. reset everything on my gun. Reg to 110. hammer spring to 1. shooting 895 .

a. why so high @ such low setting?

b. getting 150+ shots from this setting.

c. shooting MOA @ 100 and more.

this gun never shot like this. I went to mark II as new shooter trying to be another Ted. and Annie did some great shooting but was never consistent for long. reset every day and sometimes during the day.

my love hate relationship is turning back to love since Annie is really performing. its actually impressive. I'm trying to understand Annie's new found abilities. has anyone else experience this :phenomena"? I think I jumped in and just overpowered the gun and pushed her too hard. but, now she'll perform like i asked her to @ much less power and lighter pellets. I didn't mention NSA 26 g. slugs. MOA. QUIET is the word.

Life just gets stranger and stranger/ I am having a similar thing happening. I started acquiring more guns and playing around with them and was pretty unimpressed with my Wildcat gen 1 and just cleaned it up real good and put it in it's gun case for about 18 months. Accuracy was off, velocity was all over the place, would have to clean the barrel about every 150 shots and fairly large chunks of pellet material would come out while cleaning ... I was seriously considering selling it.

Well, I put it away and started messing around with my Cricket, Marauders, Impact, Uragan, Vulcan2 Tactic and Edgun. Awhile back, I opened the case on the Wildcat just to make sure the air hadn't dropped down to nothing and while I had it out, I thought "what da heck, let's throw a few rounds down range" ... so I put a new target out at 70 yards and started shooting. I found that it was shooting WAY better than it had before so I just kept shooting and dumped a ton of 25.4 JSBs into this target.

On some of those circles there are as many as 4 magazines in them. Some I shot as quick as I could pull the side lever on it with only about 3 seconds between shots (and it showed). Hate to admit it but on some I forgot the amount of holdover and toward the end my 70 year old eyes just blinked out on me

If you could have seen the way this gun had been shooting before I locked it up 18 months ago, you would have been amazed. At that time I would have been tickled pink to just get well aimed shots to group inside of 3 inches. I don't have any explanation ... it's a riddle to me too.

In our quest for power we sometime mess up the gun’s balance. More sometime isn’t more, all guns have a happy range and we should try to find it.

I was trying to shoot slugs and cranked up pressure and hammer spring, didn’t get much more speed but the gun doesn’t even sound happy. Tuned it down and I was able to shoot 34 grain heavies at 900 FPS with only 90 bar. Great shot count, quiet and accurate, the great Ted holdover once said: one of the great tuning tool we have is our ears.
