Impact question

I have the impact tuned pretty hot right now. Is there an issue using the valve travel knob on 1.5 or 2 lines to bring the noise down for low power plinking?

I have it on minimum at 130 bar reg, if i open the valve to line 3 or 4 it pounds. If i want to shoot it on line 1.5 or 2 is it beating the piss out of the c3 bumper and rubber ball in the valve adjustement knob? Or is it ok?

Force transmitted to the C3 would be dependent on hammer weight and spring pre-load-- since you have the power wheel adjuster set to 'Min', that force would be less at the C3. I wouldn't worry too much about the rubber ball in the valve stop assembly, it is designed for what you are doing. You can pop the ball out and rotate it to a new position to expose a fresh surface and just replace the ball every couple thousand shots as part of regular maintenance if you are into keeping the gun like new.

Yeah thats helpful thanks, i have added a hammerweight and have taken all the slack out of the hammer spring wheel however. I'll keep doing it (not often) if i damage some parts ill replace them no big deal.

Its unbelievably quiet at 550fps and seems to be gentle enough on it

Hey Lewis, yep definitely on min. Keep in mind it has the "chubby" 70cc plenum, hammer weight, delrin c3, slightly enlarged tp on the brass inlet. The hammerweight adds some length to the assembly and probably adds a bit preload on its own.

Now im home and looking at it, its more like 2 lines and maybe 1/3 I really can't see it causing damage. Sounds happy to me.

Ill have to wait and just bring my chrony out next time and spend some time seeing what setting does exactly what. I can run a few over the chrony at home but cant go nuts i live in the city and we can't have moderators up here. (Loud)
