Impact Magazine Mods

I have the aluminum inserts. They work great with slugs and pellets! Lighter slugs don’t tip over like they do in the FX magazines. I did Glem’s modifications to all my magazines too. That’s the best mod. ever. After doing Glem’s mod, they all work perfect.

Augie, I got them from Stu Wrycraft. He’s on all the Facebook FX Impact forums. He makes all kinds of cool parts for FX air guns. I’ve gotten lots of parts from him. He’s a great guy and when he ships stuff from Great Britain, it usually gets out here to California in only 4-5 days. He goes by miastuwrycraft.

BigHun, just do a search under GlemChally’s past posts. It was’t that long ago. It should be easy to find. I’d do it for you but it’s dinner time!

Here you go Attila https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/25-fx-sideshot-mag-with-slugs-fix-2/ I've since used JB weld and its better than the construction glue I first used. Just make sure there's none (residue or anything) below where the center disk rotates. Adding an extra turn or half a turn on the tension helps too, and I put some superlube under where it rotates also.

Working *better than new, glad its still working great for you Kevin!

I see, you folks talking about old style smaller mags. I got the PP and the large mags, FX must have changed things in time between. bcs I never had any issues with the last pellet some were mentioning, also I just needed to bookmark the info for later (case of emergency). Not shooting slugs yet, no open shooting ranges here, and I still have about 10-12 full tins of JSB heavies to go.

This is for the sideshot mags, put one pellet in the mag and take a picture of how centered it is in the hole the probe slides through. I'm curious, maybe they did address it.

I was ready to bet for it, You made me go downstairs to pickup a mag. and you were right !!!

Interesting...but this is a purpose design not a failure they must had some idea. And this is an easy fix as well - removing material on the mould is quick job, unless the plastic injection moulds are somewhere far away.

Anyway, so far I did not had issues with loading pellets but I will have a closer look first thing in the morning.

So did you still have to do Glem's mod to keep the slugs from flipping sideways with the new metal inserts? I have the same issue with slugs. I super glued a straw piece right in the corner at the stop, which has reduced the flipping some 80% (sorry Glem I had to improvise). I may need to revise this though as it's not perfect yet. I would get the metal insert if it fixed the issue 100%.
