Tuning Impact M3 700 mm sniper: very very low slug velocity.

Seeing this post from Butch made me look at my FX slug probe. There is a small o-ring that seals the pin probe to the body.

Back home, wife is not back from work yet so I have some free time to shoot a couple of slugs in my Parisian condominium without generating a third world war. As suggested I replaced the slug power kit pin proble with the original and...

... It worked!!!

The 34 grains speed reached 996 fps and S/D was 4. I removed the original probe and re installed the pin probe from the slug power kit and it worked also: the velocity was about the same. Why did it worked now and the very same configuration generated only 700 fps at the range? I have no clue. And no, it is not a question of speedometer bad installation: all my velocities where measured with the FX radar and the Magnetospeed and the 2 set of measurement were consistant. The most probable explanation is that all the creative swears I shouted during the last 72 hours war interpreted as a prayer by Eole, the god of airgunners. Or maybe the fact of installing and re-intalling the probes did fix an O ring right somewhere. Who knows?

Thanks to all of you for helping me returning to the community of happy M3 users.
