My hammer spring tension adjustment screw on my Impact keeps loosening up about every 200 rounds. How are you guys locking it down so it doesn't move? I just reset it at 17.64 mm for a .25 cal, but I know it's not gonna hold where it is. Any ideas?

blue lock tight littie dabildoya go past where you want it set(clock wise) put a dab and back it off to where you want it.

Thanks Sonny ... do you put the loc tight at the end of the screw where it comes out of the screw housing, next to where it touches the power dial? Or do you put it in the hole in the bar ... I can't see in there too well. I guess you could use a tooth pick or a q-tip or even a dental pick to put the loc tight in the screw housing.

What caliber is your impact by the way likkitysplyt, I have a 25cal shooting the 34grs 850fps like a laser. I had to play with the 3 settings reg,h/s,v/s to get it shooting right but seems to be sweet now.

What I did is i found a little nut that fot the screw and put on so it holds the screw from loosninlo.
its been holding it for more than 6000 rounds.

I prefer to use finger nail polish. It will hold And can be removed. Back your screw out and apply to the end towards dial [thats where threads are] let it set an hour or do it @nite and it should be fine . If you use black polish you can be a little sloppier. Thats me, Sloppy.

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the innovative ideas ... everything from Loc-tight to fingernail polish to tiny screws to hold that screw in place ... all good ideas.
Sonny, yeah, mine is in .25 cal also ... I'm gonna have to play around with the chronograph to find the best velocity to spit out the pellets most accurately. I was trying to figure out what was a good starting point for spring tension and took a look at that pdf file I have concerning factory settings for the Impact. I think it is called "Troubleshooting the FX Impact" where they gave factory settings of 18mm (+/- .5 mm ) for the factory setting on the .25 cal and a reg pressure of 125 Bar. My regulator appears to be set at about 140.
So far, with the limited testing I have done ... the accuracy seems to improve when the hammer spring is tighter than 18 mm ... somewhere around 16.5 mm. I was wondering if that setting would put considerably more pressure on the components and possibly cause damage or lower the lifespan of some parts. I'd like to get the speed for the 25.4 grain JSBs to around 910 or 920.
Anyhoo, thanks for the good ideas and the help. Just gonna have to put some time on this project and see what works best.
