Impact .30 speed down problem

Impact .30, 600cm barrel, the regulator pressor is 13Mpa, normally, i use the speed 220m/s for target shooting, everything was fine when i did target shooting in field with my friend the day before yesterday, but today when i went out for target shooting, the speed decreased to 180m/s, and in the past 2 days, nothing changed. i have to tight the valve spring to max and change the power wheel to MAX, the speed is still 180-190m/s, so i thought, may be there are problem with the o-ring of A2, A3, and changed that 3 o-rings, nothing change, the speed is still about 180m/s, so faint...

the gauge number of bottle and regulator looks fine, and can not find leak also....

please tell me how to find the problem, please.

And also for o-ring A3, the .30 barrel, the 2 o-rings are different, who knows the size, i only have one size from the part list from FX,

Me and a buddy had the same problem within days of each other. He sent his to UA for repair, i ordered an o-ring kit. UA said his was C3 o-ring, so i changed mine too hoping that was the trick. Bingo. So that’s where I’d start. C3 bumper

Thanks Kerbow01, my C3 looks fine, no break, how about your original one? is it broken? is it fixed when you changed C3?

Low FPS check list;

  1. Insure C1 is bottom out tight
  2. Insure Valve seat is bottom out on valve rod
  3. Use only D90 or harder to replace C3 bumper
  4. Insure probe feeder block has a distance of 45mm to edge of butt plate.
  5. Check for crack value seat
  6. Clear air passages on regulator piston and adjuster screw, piston and screw my need replacing if vary slow recovery time on reg gauge
  7. Valve adjuster line 4 for testing
  8. Power wheel on max with no slack on adjuster screw
  9. Reg pressure 140-150b for testing
  10. Insure Brass TP on barrels not loose
  11. Insure pellet probe oring and valve rod 2.2x1 oring not blowing when fired
  12. Insure valve housing set screw is seating on the flat surface of the valve housing

  1. checked all in the list, finally, C3 is the problem, it is broken like this:

the first time, i did not find it's broken, because the two pieces were still together, found out when i checked it carefully, replace it with a new one, the speed is back, but become inconsistent, have to spend more time to tune it, anyway, problem fixed. i own FX impact for 3 months, totally about 500 shots, have broken cocking pin, broken C3 o-ring, Fx impact is really a good design, but FX should think how to make it reliable.

Happened to my impact 25 too. Lost a lot of fps. Ppl suggest replace the c3 ring. I did and it went back to normal. Idk why fx using cheap craps in their $2000 guns. Smh. I had to tear the whole gun apart just to get into the c3 ring. They using cheap plastic piston, cheap $3 Chinese gauges, and cheap o rings for their c3 stopper. Smh. A $2000 gun we the customers shouldnt even have to mod and mess with it to get it shooting right.

And also for o-ring A3, the .30 barrel, the 2 o-rings are different, who knows the size, i only have one size from the part list from FX,

10 x 2 and 10 x 1.5

Honestly, i had to make a decision for FX or ED when bought Impact, i know ED is very reliable and easy maintain, but i like the design of impact, i thought Impact might has some problems, never imagine it has some many problems, i changed gauge to Wika, replaced the broken cocking, then replaced the C3 part, so what will be the next broken? when?

i don't think the problems caused by the design, all the problems caused by the material quality, unbelievable!

Next gonna be the reg. Many have already replaced their reg with Huma reg cause of the creep on pressure overnight. I have a huma reg on the way. $120 shipped. Im an AR155/M4 guy. So I went with the impact since it look much like an AR and has an external reg. I agree the impact has some problem that fx needs to fix before they start shipping to the customers. So we don't have to waste extra money on parts to get it shooting right. There is no excuse on a $2000 gun.

ok, it looks i should prepare a huma regulator ASAP...

Reg creep does not make the gun not shoot right. Whether you're hunting or target shooting, do you not verify zero before you start shooting? One or two shots prior to the money shots is all it takes to settle the reg.

I'm not saying don't buy a Huma reg, all I'm saying is that you don't "need" one. The AMP reg in my Crown and Impact both creep, but they don't affect performance or accuracy.....both have single-digit ES and both are sub-moa at 100yds with pellets and slugs. My Impact is even sub-moa at 200yds.

Hello FX Impact owners,

FX appreciates your feedback on our products, and we are always looking to improve. This being said, the Impact MKII does have larger, more accurate gauges, a reinforced cocking lever pin and a reinforced hammer pin.

Regarding the C3 bumper, the PUR90 material o-ring is necessary for full power mobility of the rifle, specifically in the lower power ranges. If your C3 bumper does fail, you can contact us at FX USA ([email protected] , 866-639-0772 option 1) and get a replacement, and if you are under warranty, the part and shipping will be covered. You can also contact us, then send the rifle in for servicing, if you do not feel comfortable completing the repair yourself. We do provide technical support over the phone as well.

If you are not interested in having full mobility of power ranges, Ernest Rowe has created a Delrin Ring replacement for the C3 bumper. This can be ordered from FX USA. Ernest has been testing this design for years, and has never had one of his bumpers crack, split, or fail in any way. The limitation to this ring, though, as previously stated, is that you will not be able to achieve the lower powers or velocities that you are able to achieve with the rubber PUR90 bumper. The rubber bumper is able to absorb some of the impact from the hammer, whereas the delrin bumper translates the entire force of the impact from the hammer.

With all of the above said, FX Sweden is looking at the situation and constantly looking for the best solutions for all power ranges and to improve our rifles.

If you have any further questions, feel free to email a question to [email protected], and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Great post @fx-usa and yes, a delrin might not be good for low speed.

If we think the purpose of the c3 bumper, for me is "normal" that at some point will get busted. (That bumper get hit with every shot by the hammer). Is very easy to replace/change. IME delrin bumper is fine for 0.22 jsb 15.8gn and above @100bar reg pressure and stock everything else (vs, vh, etc). But with 0.177 cal could be a problem.

Suggestion: you should include more c3 bumpers or a kit of bumpers with new impacts for example pur90 and delrin.

Thanks Bob,

I will keep a eye on the AMP reg, so far, it is works fine now, and yes, i always shot 1 or 2 before target shooting.

BTW, i am your follower in youtube, you always make great hunting videos, i like them!
