Tuning Impact 22 cal barrel preference

I have an Impact that I've converted to .22 cal with a 700 MM barrel that I acquired from a friend. It has an STX barrel, but initial results with slugs is dismal. Which barrel liner works best in your 700 mm barrel? I want to shoot 25.4 gr JSB KO slugs or something similar. I'm thinking that the superior liner is the one to choose. What's your experience?

jps, I have a 700 mm .22 Impact, and I bought a slug A liner for it. Couldn't make it perform. But with the STX pellet liner I'm getting good (half inch at 70 yd) accuracy with H&N .218 23 grain slugs at 885-895 fps. I haven't tried any other slugs in my pellet liner yet.

I have the slug A and for me it shoots lights out. Shoots pellets and a multitude of slugs very well. I polished it with JB bore polish and used their bore bright as well. Don't know if that helped but I have the stuff and always do my barrels.

same here, my 700mm slug-a liner does very well with nicks 24.8gr dbhp slugs right at 1012fps.

i just thought that h&n and fx slugs did good......nope !!

It appears that all FX offers now are Superior and Heavy Superior barrels. Is that true?

Yeah I think those liners made the slug liners obsolete. Which is a shame IMO, my .22 and .30 slug liners are fantastic the .25 isnt quite as good.

Couldn’t agree more. Recently got a brand new Impact .22 and had an unused 600mm slug A liner that I bought more than a year ago for a Crown project that never happened. Got my harmonic tune done this weekend (took three weekends and a 1000 slugs) and shot no less than 10 sub 20mm c-t-c groups at 100m.

So beautifully consistent. Could not wish for more.
