Well a friend is buying a M3 when they get to Canada so talked him into selling one of his 5 impacts haha. This one is an early MK2 and had only been shot once then kept in the case.

I've ordered a K&L pellet probe holder, new design kind of a pinch bolt setup. And power plenum kit. This one will most likely be setup as compact. I have everything ready to go just waiting for those blasted 300cc bottles to get to Canada.

I might try my "hybrid" setup similar to what I have with my other one where it has the power plenum but still uses the rubber ball stopper rather than a spring. Excited 👍




 
Congrats! It is always good to leave some wiggle room for some accessories you know you are going to want. I have it in my head now that I may want to do something similar. I never have liked switching out calibers with one gun.

I tried the hybrid setup as you know, which does work well, but decided to go full blown factory setup when installing the slug kit.

Congrats! I expected to hear you were getting a M3 but getting a good deal on a like new MK2 works too! I would love a compact setup but I'd want it truly quiet without a moderator on the end in the 24" range total OAL. Other than that would be awesome!

Yeah it's not different enough for me to justify the price but the M3 seem sweet forsure.

In the compact form I have to add about an inch and a half to make it legal length up here 26 inches. So without that youd be around 24.5 without a moderator and 500mm barrel.

Got the PP the other day from Huma, only took a week! Got it installed this morning, used the original in plenum spring (used a washer type thing to keep the spring end away from delrin seat) used old hammer spring and old rubber ball setup. 

Went smooth, should be getting a 300cc bottle pretty soon. Had a Wika sitting around and put that in for the bottle pressure also. 

Might be the only compact in Canada once I get the 300cc.

Oh heck yeah! Been waiting for this setup for a while. I know old news for you guys South heh. The rats will be hating on this setup.

Nice gun!

I can speak from a voice of experience that the ground squirrels sure do hate these as well.

I may be in the minority but I personally feel that the Compact is the best format of the Impact (at least for how I shoot). And it continues to amaze me how quiet it is without additional moderation.

After all that work moving all my stuff in the woods over and rebuilding got to shoot there a bit today. Still a bit more work to do.

Felled this with a cordless sawzall and handsaw. Heh, might pickup and old chainsaw to make a decent trail. It's a jungle in here. Blasted a chipper there this morning (thumb up)

Heard some heavy crunching not far off for about 10 mins so I made some noise and it buggered off. Most likely the mom and cub, the mom knows me from this last couple years. She knows you're there she'll head the another way. Perfect, always pack the boom stick just in case.
