Immersive Optics

Thanks, Mballistics and Gunnertrones 👍🏼

I will continue to watch this thread for any updates and reports of the quality you might be able to give me.

🔸➔ I'm especially interested if the turrets track true for dialing every shot, or if are really only to zero the scope and then to be left alone.

🔸I'm particularly interested in the 14x50 prismatic scope.

To have a field of view of 28ft (@ 100y), something I would need to take quick shots at very close range (10y) —

but at the same time(!!) have that at a 14x magnification — that's simply amazing!

E.g., no magnification change necessary between taking a 70-yard shot and right after, a 10-yard shot if need be! 😊

Here are the specs of the prismatic scopes from Immersive Optics:

Well, Jungleshooter - I have the 10x24, but as you see they all focusing down to 6 meter. The reticle is fixt and has good hold over markers, so I think I will zero around 40-50 meters, and leave it there - for most purposes. Mark the eye relief. You have to mount it close, but there is 3 mounting bases in the box, with different lenghts, so there will be no problems finding the right placement.

First impression holding it: Extremely small and light weight for a 10X.
First impression looking through it: Sharp, clear all the way to the edges, and an impressive field of view.

Downside (for me): The short eye relief. The 14x50, has a bit longer ER, but just a bit...
I often shoot my pistols resting in my arm hook. For that purpose short eye relief is no problem - acually that is what I want. So maybe this scope will end up on one of my FX Rancheroes.

Mounted the Immersive today to my FX Wildcat. Had some shooting time, and I am all over very satisfied.
The short eye relief is new to me, and something I have to get used to. Unpleasant in the beginning, but after a couple of magazines I kind of got used to it. The field of view and crisp image is excellent, and for this little scope (and extremely low weight) with 10 x power almost unbelievable.
But the looks…….? Not so sure. It looks a bit odd with the mounting so far back (due to the short ER again), but it sits tight and firm so no problem there.

Boxtest? Didn’t do that today. In fact I didn’t use the turrets at all. I was going to set zero at about 50-60 meters, but the scope was dead on when I took my first shots at 50 meters. Didn’t have to adjust anything. Never have experienced that before with a scope right out of the box, and a bit amusing aktually.

What will happen if you reverse the rail on FX ?

Mballistics, you are amazing at photo manipulating! You even shortened the long base to the shortest one that comes in the box.
Even if there is moa in the rail, I think it would work because the base has adjustable moa in it.
But I am anyway going to put this scope on one of my Rancheros. Think it will suit a pistol very well.

These prismatic scopes open up a whole new world....

They have some odd features, like the zero eye relief. That can be rather odd — look at the pic how the scope extends waaaay beyond the action — the "wrong" way.

But for pistols — and carbines with the stock detached, retracted, or folded away — that arrangement seems PERFECT for rested shots (rested on ellbows and door posts and fences)! 😊

The advantage of having a 10x scope with the field of view (FoV) of a 3x scope is mind boggling to me. The wide FoV is one of my main reasons why I want scopes with variable magnification — because I need to wide FoV for those close range shots. But with a prismatic — I get the best of both worlds! 😄

🔶 However, I am wondering a bit about scope jitter for offhanded shots. A 10x or 12x and certainly a 14x magnification is probably a bit high for offhanded shots (at least for someone like me with a caffein jitter....). 🤔

👍🏼👍🏼 Thank you for your user reports — they are very helpful! Especially the box test I am very interested being a die hard turret dialer.... 😄

Mballistics and jungleshooter. Turning the rail will conflict with your face. Not much, but I wouldn’t recommend it without cutting an inch off the rail. That will work.
The Immersive is ok for the Wildcat, and even if the placement looks unusual, it is well balanced.
The end solution: I switched the Immersive and the Minox between the Ranchero, and the Wildcat.
10x is no problem for this Pistol. It’s a custom built .22, and delivers 27 ftp. No problem shooting beer cans at 100 meters with this one.

Just ordered the 10x40 and 14x50 from 2 different vendors, trying to get it out of europe and into the USA. Figured once I figure out which one to keep I can sell one of them (assuming they both show up).

Never used a prismatic scope, haven't tried the FFP scopes either, we'll see.

Gunnertrones - which reticle did you get? How do you like it?

I got the ordinary mildot, and it is ok. The mildot extended (which I wanted the most) was not available when I placed my order.
