I’m Ready to Buy!!!

"Kev"Orville I have the Ultimate Sporter in .177 with Q tech moderator. It is the quietest 23 fpe airgun i’ve ever been around, that is backyard friendly by anyone’s measure. It’s pellet of choice is a AirArms Heavy 10.5g pellet. My brother’s Ultimate Sporters best pellet, also. It is very accurate on half power, so that is where I primarily shoot mine. If you are a hunter you can remove squirrels surgically. Think 1/2” groups at 50 yards. You will be able to fit the stock to you like a glove.

The primary negative would be a lower shot count due to lack of regulator with 35-40 good shots in .177. Not a big fan of banjo fill but put a foster fit adapter on the banjo fitting and leave it on while shooting. Good luck with your purchase. I really enjoy mine.
Thanks for the feedback. I’m a lefty with some neck issues so the adjustability is extremely important.
Thanks,
Orville

I forgot to mention that I ordered the air Venturi 74 cu ft bottle. I have a dive shop 10 minutes from home that will fill it for $8

Looks like the S510 is excluded from our discount code, sorry must have MAP pricing

That's for the scope to keep it from moving. Spring guns have a lot of recoil so they pin the gun to the scope rings or at least butt up to the pin. It's kind of a carryover for the S510, IMHO not really needed.

I have the S510 in a Carbine and like it a lot. I regulated mine with a Huma reg and up until I got the Impact it was my favorite gun.

Enjoy. I'm sure you will.

The AA s510 full length was my first PCP and I don't think I could ever part with it either. I too would recommend going .22, my first airgun was the RWS 34Pro springer in .177 and and i've never picked it up again after i got my .22 s510 and i' know own them more PCP and after getting a .25 i very rarely shoot .22 just seems like the way of things. So unless you are power restricted or shoot something limited pellet size i would go .22 for your first. Welcome to the club, enjoy whatever you pick up.

UPDATE: Today is the first time I’ve been able to shoot my new S510 ultimate.
Currently situation: I don’t have a chronograph so I don’t know what FPS I’m shooting. I’m using Meisterkugeln 8.2 g pellet in .177.
25 yards I’m in a 3 inch group. Very disappointed thus far. I plan to get a chronograph this week and try some different pellets.

What pellet let do you recommend?
Thanks,
Orville

Orville, Get rid of the wad cutter type of pellet, they are meant for 10 meter use and will be very hard if not impossible to shoot accurate at longer distances ! Your rifle is a FAC model I'm sure and higher powered than a 10 meter style rifle. Your gun can be turned down to shoot them at close range if you wish to but I think I remember you saying you want to shoot field target so I would recommend that you get some domed pellets (diablo) minimum 8 grain if if shooting in the 12 Ft. Lb.class and if you are going to shoot the hunter class get some 10.34 JSB's or 10.65 H&M Barracuda Match pellets, set your speed /power wheel about 1/3 of the way from the lowest on the dial until you can get to a crony for testing, that will put you in the neighborhood of 700 F.P.S. with the 10 grain pellets and should shoot well until you can set up with a crony.
If you want to set up for Hunter class the 10.34 JSB pellets are the most popular ones to use to my knowledge and they max out at the 20 ft lb maximum when shooting at about 933 F.P.S. with the H&N 10.65 pellets at about 919 F.P.S. Don't be discouraged as your gun will shoot great with the right pellet!
We have 9 of them in our club and all will shoot one hole groups at 25 yards so hang in there till you get the correct ammo!! Jeff Little McMurray Pa.
