I’m Ready to Buy!!!

Hi Orville, Just something to keep in mind, I would check to see if they have any of the last years model left as the new one has a a smaller air chamber (carbine?) than the previous years rifle. When I bought mine last year they tried to sell me the newer one but I wanted the other one for more shot count, only problem is it was a hundred dollars more!!
I feel it is worth it ,you may not? I shoot field target with a employee of Pyramyd Air that has the shorter one and he told me his shot count is not good and wishes he had bought the old model. Last time I looked they still had a couple in stock but I have not checked lately! Anyways Good Luck with your new rifle I'm sure you will like it!! I know I like mine!!

Jeff, I was looking at this and noticed the Hunter Field Target model has the longer air tube. But it doesn't have the nice hush pipe on the end like the Sporter. Thanks for passing on the info about the older model Sporter.

Hi Camp!! I did forget to mention the upgraded moderator on the newer model !! Sorry about that, but I really don't know how much more quiet it can be as my rifle is Very Quiet. Mine is a .177 cal. and for field target I have it shooting a little over 900 F.P.S. with JSB 10.34 pellets so it's possible that the larger Cal. may be louder I guess, thus the need for a better silencing system.

I dont know your situation but I learn towards used esp. with AA rifles. Then again "I" like the older models with the better trigger & 16mm shroud. We have an older .177 AAS410 aand the only issue was it was shooting 23fpe out of the box and it has been an outstanding rig.
Have you fired one?

AA fit & finish is excellent. They are fairly easy to work on. Almost all have reasonable accuracy out of the box. Seems to be about the lowest resale value of top shelf airguns ??? If that matters.

Then again, that new gun smell, oh ya!

I dont think you are going to find much of a discount anywhere on that one.

You may not be able to get a discount per se. But, you will accumulate bullseye bucks through PA. I realize that when you're ready, you're READY. But, if you can wait, they'll probably have a halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas special where you can earn double or possibly more bullseye bucks.
Nice choice (although, I'd personally go with a .22). I loved my AA-S510 for a long time. Couldn't bare to sell it so, I gave it to my wife for her first airgun.
Enjoy!

Orville I have the Ultimate Sporter in .177 with Q tech moderator. It is the quietest 23 fpe airgun i’ve ever been around, that is backyard friendly by anyone’s measure. It’s pellet of choice is a AirArms Heavy 10.5g pellet. My brother’s Ultimate Sporters best pellet, also. It is very accurate on half power, so that is where I primarily shoot mine. If you are a hunter you can remove squirrels surgically. Think 1/2” groups at 50 yards. You will be able to fit the stock to you like a glove.

The primary negative would be a lower shot count due to lack of regulator with 35-40 good shots in .177. Not a big fan of banjo fill but put a foster fit adapter on the banjo fitting and leave it on while shooting. Good luck with your purchase. I really enjoy mine.
