I'm not playing guitar, but...

I'm in Massachusetts - wonderful state, but not exactly the friendliest place for anything related to guns, rifles, bullets etc.

If the police officer would stop me and would see anything like this in my car:

I'll have to do a lot of explanation and I'm not sure if "it's just an airgun" would help me much

I was looking at some sports bags, but it is not convenient to squeeze your rifle in a bag

Finally found this guitar case:

Will have to add a couple music related stickers

Some foam to hold Pulsar in place

A case for pellets and I can even leave that in my car at work, nobody will freak out

That's a Fender-style vintage tweed looking guitar case. Leave that in your car and it may not freak anyone out, but it sure as heck would be a thief magnet, something a thief would perceive as being an expensive Fender guitar.

How about just a plain-looking black padded bag. If your car's interior is black and the windows are tinted, you could lay the black bag on the floor behind the front seat and no one would even see it down there.

I was trying bag, I don't like zippers, straps, pockets

You have to squeeze your gun, pockets sag under heavy pellets.

This cheap Chinese case should serve the purpose perfectly

It's hard, doesn't bend, easy to put a gun in and take it out, enough space for pellet case.

I remover rear seats from my van

In Ma in most of the places you don't have to hide your belongings, it's very rare to see the broken window and something stolen.

Good padded rifle bag looks exactly like a Rifle Bag

Idea was to have a hard case, I can leave inside and don't worry at work, shopping mall or if police stops me

I guess couple silly stickers should do the job

Hi

I completely understand your situation.

I live in Mass as well.

I purchased a soft case at Walmart once and had to fold it up while bringing it to the register because a lot of people were giving me strange looks in the store.

Like the case where did you find it?

You may want to keep an old blanket in the car to cover up the case if you're worried about someone breaking in.

Dave

Man I thought NY was bad. At least around here the cops hate the gun laws s much as the shooters. We have some neighbors that shoot their AR every couple weeks or so. I have counted between 12 and 20 uninterrupted shots (we are limited to 7 shot magazines). I know one of my neighbors is an anti gun nut and reports them everytime. Usually the police show up about 2 hours after they are done shooting. Thankfully I have managed to stayy off this neighbors radar. Anyway as far as traffic stops the cops are real chill as long as the gun is not loaded. Of course Im pretty rural but I imagine the more urban areas this might be a concern. Love this idea!

Of course there is always the more common sense approach and ensure you are not giving the police a reason to pull you over while you are carrying your equipment in the care by you know... carefully obeying all traffic laws and recommended speeds on the roadways.

Unless your going to tell me that police there are randomly pulling people over in MA for spot checks without cause, in that case its time to get out of MA!

Fortunately, it is not that bad yet, police can't stop you randomly without reason

But sometimes it can be some silly nonworking tail light or some towns are hunting you down even 5 mph above the speed limit.

Obviously, they do that on the longest straight stretch of the widest road in that town and they would hide 20ft after the reduced speed limit sign.

Airguns are perfectly legal in Ma, you just never know who will stop you

I don't want to waste my time trying to explain, why I have that in my car and where I'm going and what else I have in my car.

I have a neighbor - she freaks out even if I was shooting .22 PCP, I had to abandon my .357 completely, was way too loud. And she lives a quarter mile from my property - that's Ma.

Daystate Pulsar was my ticket back to shooting - extremely quiet.

That's link to a case if someone wants:

If anyone uses soft cases gig bags are actually better suited than most "gun" bags and a veryt low cost at pawn shop ( they seperate them like scopes & rifles).

These belong to a friend in Nashville and his neighbors never even blink.

John

John... I like the gig bag idea. As a guitarist, I’ve got a few of those I never use. Thanks for the suggestion, I will try them out. Still a good idea to keep the case from being visible in a car left parked in a public place on a regular basis. Throw a blanket over it at least. Guitars are definitely thief bait!

Aside from being quiet, how do you like the Pulsar? How is the handling?

I totally understand wanting a quiet air rifle. My Red Wolf is surprisingly quiet.

I have Hammerly .22, Hatsan BT65 .22, Evanix 3D Bullpup .25, Evanix Max .357

It's not like jumping from Fort Taurus to BMW or Mercedes it's like jumping directly to Bentley

I only regret one thing, why I didn't do that sooner.

You take Pulsar in your hands and everything tells Quality.

Finish on metal parts, magazines, even synthetic stock feels very pleasant to touch.

Extremely consistent - I'm not used to that kind of accuracy

Few times I had to run to my target and check what is going on, because after 3 shots at 25-30 yards I had only one solid hole.

It stack pellets on top of each other and I'm, by no any means, advanced shooter, I like hunting squirrels, chipmunks and raccoons, didn't spend much time at the targets.

Main reason was - my other guns are way too loud to waste any shots on paper(if neighbor home, she would run to my house and start screaming after 10-20 shots) other problem was a hand pump.

How many times per hour you can fill your PCP with a hand pump?

With Pulsar and SCBA tank situation changed drastically

I can shoot 100-200 pellets to a target and enjoy that.

I don't know why a lot of people don't like electronics, good example is Paintball, they use electronically regulated airguns for decades, have a lot of features and not much problems, that's why I was not hesitant, when I ordered Pulsar.

So far it's a pure joy and not a single problem.

Adjustable power - amazing feature 50-60 shots full power, close to 100 - medium, I didn't even try Low power yet.

Trigger is another story, no linkage, no flimsy feel like other bullpups - crisp, precise and very predictable.

A lot of other pleasant small things, it would never double feed, it goes through shots with zero effort, because you are not pulling spring, you can cock side lever with one finger.

You always see on a display how many shots you have left, after last shot gun vibrates - magazine is empty.

Low pressure it vibrates again.

Build in laser - a lot of people call that gimmick, but at night it really works and no wires no switches you cock gun it works, after you make shot it shuts down.

Switching scopes it's a joke it takes literally 2 minutes and 2 shots to zero

You put new scope - zero to a laser dot on a target and make 2-3 shots to double check.

On top of everything it is - quiet. (I got Pulsar with Huggett installed)

Quiet is not even right word - if anyone would tell me it is possible, I would not even believe, till I had chance to try by myself.

Some people spit louder than Pulsar sends pellets to target
