IM almost ready to go shooting my Tiapan

HI I am all ready to head out to shoot the Tiapan I been playing with , HA I have to say with all of my PCP guns , I really enjoyed this gun the most and it has always been , one of my most accurate guns from a 30 fpe to 65fpe tune , SO today I want to stretch its legs and see just how far the groups will hold tight , Today I will try my 39 gr , my 36 gr , my 35 gr some hn 30 gr and the Jsb Knockout 25,39 gr , Today my tune is this ,

Huma reg 140 bar , Un choked barrel 600MM , stock hst, ported transfer port 6mm enlarged seat ,I am running 2 of Ernest power plenums and today Donny fl KOI which seems to be the only moderator I can use with 2 of Ernest plenums , unless a barrel moderator extension or the oem moderator is used .

I was pondering back when I bought gun it was 34fpe I used pellets and quickly tuned it to shoot slugs , and I remember fitted with 30mm scope it was 8.5 pounds ,

Well fast forward to today , My Taipan today is way to heavy to carry in woods for me ,at 13.4 pounds lol but you got to remember , today I am running over 5 pounds of scope and bipod , as I am not hunting I am going to shoot prone and Heavy is better , but I find when I got out with Titus and my 4.5 pound leshiy and a pocket full of pellets , it is alot easier then hauling all this stuff in pictures plus my labradar which is already outside ,adding all of it with mats and all , and air tank I am carrying over 80 pounds of gear for a pellet gun lol , does this seem excessive? 10 pounds of slugs .

Ok well not great day shooting , I got set up and started with the HN 30 gr and wind picked up to 20mph , 75 yds 1 big ragged hole , 200 yds today I did not hold for wind same poi 200 yds I had a 1 inch up and down group 1 inch difference , but a 3.5 inch side to side group some went threw each hole , but wind was blowing and stopping , I held same POI , I could of tightened groups up with holding for wind but I held center ,

I then said let me try out knockouts , and they went threw same hole at 75 yds I mean exactly same hole , I almost said maybe they missed so then I put a medal woodchuck on ground and I hit him every shot and the paint chip was like 3/8 inch , so these shooting alot better , I just like slugs over 34 for my 22 cals , I would really like to see the knockout in 34 or 38 grains , OK so then I put out a target at 150 yds , and I shot a 1/4 inch group up and down with a 1.5 inch side by side , The wind was lessening , I wset up for 200 yds , and loaded up some 34 MP and some 39 grain slugs to shoot 100 then 200yds , and I got a call to leave darn I only shot like 30 min , after 1,5 hours of set up and carrying stuff . ohh well next time

LOU

PS Jade me too I am a walk and stalk but here in march is only so Squirrel and rabbit closed and no coyotes out in mid day here , so I now change my hunting guns to long range guns and shoot prone or bench , but yes hunting I like my 6 to 8 pound setups LOL

Want to do the same but with a .25 cricket converted to. 22 for slugs..but the cricket I buy for that is so new .. will wait to se if a more bit up one pops up for the project 😁 your setup looks great..I need the stock shroud + moderator I like them silent .. the .25 I buy for the project I could feel a little flex on the tip of the barrel because is 600mm to . in a setup like yours I will consider using a carbon sleeve..if mine is finish like that I will sleeve it as thick as I can..
