These Iguanas in S Florida are a real invasive species and have been causing us tremendous heartache, destroying my home garden and pooping all over the place. Well, I am putting a dent on their population with my Impact X .25 700mm with JSB's 34gr.

Here is a 5 footer that I just took down yesterday.

These Iguanas are very destructive down here. They burrow along the canals bank and cause cave ins and weaken the retention walls. They eat many flowers and plant leaves, destroying valuable gardeners crops. They cause power outage and can bite or lash you with their tails. Iguanas poop without discrimination all over which is known to carry infectious salmonella and other virus/bacteria. They are currently running around all over South Florida and are deemed a non native invasive species. Florida has allowed killing them "humanely" and shooting them in the brain with a pellet rifle is allowed. Check out Sun Sentinel online about Florida's invasive iguanas.

I shoot with the gun tuned between 850-870 fps using JSB's 33.9gr. Got that one with a 35-40yds shot. If shot placement is not Head or Spine, they do not die instantly. They have some that are more than 7 feet here.

Happy Hunting...

Brian, I have a canal at the back of the yard, with a grass bank approx. 200 yards along it. The iguanas comes on the bank and in the yard from their burrows along the canal bank, and some from across the canal. That's how I get to shoot the destructive pests. I do not go to any areas specifically for hunting, however, iguanas like being around canals and water where they love to make their burrows. They are all over the place and you can basically just shoot any iguana so long as nobody is around that will give you a hard time ( animal activists iguana lovers). I wish you all the best "Happy Hunting"
