Iguana Eradications

The guy at AoA who sold it to me said it was stupid accurate out to 50, with a nearly flat trajectory. I can not explain it, but I can tell you they did not lie to me. I want to make a video about it it's just insane. With a simple 10 year old Hakko Panorama open reflex red dot...if its closer we are shooting with that no questions asked. BUT we are shooting from a stabilized position, not off hand and Yes- they ARE tasty, surprisingly so

It's more that we run canal banks, so walking a mile with the air tank and ammo would be obnoxious when we are shooting an average of 250 rounds every 90 minutes out of 2 rifles and a pistol, LOL- indeed there are THAT MANY targets to improve trigger skills upon. However I won't deny that there has been some stop-n-pop fun but never in a situation that endangered anyone except the iguanas. I've spoken to and even warned the police in the areas, I do this for fun or for favors with permission but plenty of people are making full time jobs out of this work, so the cops are a bit dull for calls about people walking around nearby any canal banks or lakes with 'assault rifles'.

I saw that sunning of the taint news today- going to need a lot of man cards back. The people today.... also in the news this morning some lady stopped in traffic yesterday along I-95 in Boca Raton yesterday to 'help' an iguana off the road so it didn't get hit. I would have crossed 4 lanes to hit the green basta'd. Thinking her stopping on a major hwy was the dumber of those options

Orion! An iguana slaying Rockstar is complimenting me, woohoo! Your videos inspired me brother. No Mercy and congrats on your 100yard headshot from earlier this week.

Today was overcast, first time hunting them without clear blue skies. The cold bloods definitely react differently without a full battery. Still had a great day, 2 of us shooting for 1 hour bagged 12 of them. For those who again may not understand the infestation level, have a look at this picture while this was a 'hot spot' it is far from uncommon and very indicative of just how on top of each other they are. That is 6 of them in 10 feet. We had 1 goner today take a fatal shot at the base of its skull and crawl over another to die, who got shot next with a humane followup shot for both, they just are everywhere.

Best shots of the day for me were two iguanas hunkered down behind a culvert. I think they recognize my truck now. They had only 2/3 of their heads exposed at a very shallow shooting angle. it took 1 high and 1 low to find the sweet spot to slip it in for a headshot at 60 yards. I took the second lizard down on the next shot, and if you look closely at the image you can see them in between.

I just realize I missed this comment! I'm thrilled knowing that I've inspired you! Where are you shooting!? Maybe one day we can join forces and do a hunt together? Just let me know? December will be busy, because I'll be out of town in a few weeks, but when I'm back in 2020 we can do something I think it will be fun, and hopefully I'll have my Raptor mini by then!

ORION I shoot in the Palm beach county area, some days out west by the farms and others east by the C canals. Would love to come down your way sometime and feed them hungry lizards some lead. I am headed out tomorrow in fact to take advantage of the cold snap (for the rest of you hi 40's at sunrise is fridgid for us in FL). Some days it's shooting for sport, but every day is about population control and tomorrow should be an EPIC day for that.

Around the time your Raptor min is ready, SPAWL should have delivered my .30cal slug spitting Impact and I'll be ready for some trigger time.

Wow, it's going go be great to do a video together with your impact .30cal slug gun and my Raptor mini .25 cal... can't wait for it

Understand your position. Very few are wasted. I'm not into leatherworking, iguana skin is not exactly in demand in this area.

I am not sure it translates just how incredibly dense the these invasive populations have become in S. Florida. The main area i shot today was along 1000 linear feet of canal, easily spotted 100 on each side. Thats 1 every 10 feet.

How do you get permission if needed to shoot them, also what are the laws for discharging an air-gun between city limits?

There are 100's if not 1000's in my area but last thing I want is to get in trouble with the law.

im Palm Beach county also.

Discharging the air rifle is actually not the the grey area since it is clearly not defined a firearm there is no issue, this is verified. Hunting with it however is another matter that needs separate address.

I have spoken to 6 different cops across jurisdictions about the topic and I think the biggest concern is the publics growing uneasiness around anything that looks like a gun. A few of the cops had been to calls for guys on canals with "Assault rifles" only to arrive on seen Hot and Heavy for some teens with pumpmasters hunting lizards. Not exactly a newsworthy threat

Large as the population of morons is that exist down here, I am confident that generally they are aware that we have an iguana problem and that there are companies in existence that deal specifically with them. You should have consent of the property owner, None of the cops I spoke to said anything about arresting anyone for this as it's not a crime (yet) but it will suck up some time from your day and piss them off. We should avoid it so as not to bring about any changes. I am at the point now where if I am easily seen and am on another persons property with consent I am wearing a bright "look at me " vest and my gun has either a bright orange coozie on the bottle, or bright tape over the suppressor...anything that draws OBVIOUS attention to the fact that I am not hiding and that if it looks like a gun it could be a 'toy'. No camo for me, I don't want to look tactical or hunter like in anyway.

Have fun knocking the population back!!
