Here are FX's answers to your questions

For anyone who has a question for FX, I would be happy to try and get them answered for you. I can't guarantee any questions will be answered as I'm just your average Joe and don't personally know Ted Mr. Axelsson, or Johan Axelsson. However, while I was at AOA earlier this afternoon, they were extremely friendly and approachable.

To make this simple, please follow these guidelines:
  1. Reply to this post with your question.
  2. Read the questions already posted to avoid duplicate or redundant questions.
  3. Questions that are not related to airguns will be ignored.
  4. One question per member please (no rambling multi part questions).
  5. Have your question submitted no later than 11PM (Mountain Standard Time)
    [/LIST=1]
I will compile a list of the questions you post and take them with me tomorrow when I go to register for the EBR. I will then post the answers tomorrow evening,

Please understand that I can't guarantee any or all of the questions will be answered as this is an informal and non-official effort on my behalf.

    Regards,
    Scott

Well, it's been a busy day and I haven't forgotten about your questions. I actually had lunch with Johan, Frederik, and others this afternoon and spoke with Johan about this post and he said agreed to try and answer your questions so that's great news. Since we were eating, Johan did have a quick look at the initial questions and provided me me with an answer to the very fist questions which I have shown below,

QUESTIONS FOR FX SO FAR:

FX Wildcat:

  • How is the shroud removed from the barrel?
ANSWER: THE SHROUD CAN BE REMOVED USING A HEAT GUN. FIRST, TAKE NOTE OF THE CURRENT ALIGNMENT OF THE SHROUD, AND BARREL TRANSFER PORT. THEN APPLY HEAT AND GENTLY TWIST OFF THE SHROUD. WHEN REPLACING THE SHROUD, MAKE SURE THE SHROUD IS IN THE SAME POSITION IT WAS PRIOR TO REMOVING.
FX Impact:
  • What is the average FPS shooting a 44.75 gr JSB?
  • Can additional moderator sections be added?
  • What is the fill pressure?
  • Any idea when it will start shipping?
  • How much will extra barrels cost?
  • Will barrels be sold as a complete kit( barrel, pellet probe and magazine)?
  • Is the finish on the Sliver model the actual metal or is it a coating?
Keep the questions coming...

I have all of your questions ready to give to FX tomorrow.. I also went into the Manufacturer Feedback to see if there were any other questions for FX that haven't been answered yet.

@Fukochan, I printed your post FX Big Bore Gun for the American Market? We Want it! and will hand it to FX tomorrow. As it reads right now, it's in serious need of proof reading to address grammatical errors. If you send me a revised copy by 10 am, I'll print it and take that instead.

Cheers,
Scott

Can I get more detailed directions on the shroud removal for the Wildcat .25? Which part of the shroud should be heated? How much? What are the risks of damaging the rifle? Any visuals/video available (AOA has a good video for shroud removal on the Bobcat & Indy)?

I did not realize that the .25 has no sound moderation when I ordered it. I like the gun, except it is too loud. I am having a silencer built, and as the shroud serves no purpose on the .25, l am hoping to replace it with the silencer. Doing so would significantly reduce the additional length the silencer would otherwise add to the rifle.

Thanks,
Jim.

Jim,

The instructions already provided are the best you are going to get, It's unrealistic to expect a manufacturer to provide detailed instructions on something that is never meant to be taken apart in the first place. I tried to help and I am sorry you didn't get the answer you had hoped for from FX. I would suggest that you contact the distributor for any outstanding concerns or requests you have.

Scott I have not seen the wildcat but I would guess he is talking about the front of the barrel. FX probably threaded the barrel similar to the bobcat. Heating it with a heat gun will soften the loctite compound they use so you can take it off. Heat is your friend in this situation what they are saying is be careful when you unscrew it because if you do not get it hot enough you can put too much torque on the barrel and miss align the transfer hole.

Johan Axelsson of FX took some time to answer your questions below. He has been extremely busy these past few days with the EBR so I am grateful and appreciative for getting these to us so quickly.

Thanks Johan! Thanks FX!
Scott

QUESTIONS FROM MANUFACTURES FEEDBACK

Q: Will FX get into the Big Bore hunting market?
A: FX has no plans to move into the big bore hunting market as of now.

Q: How to adjust FX Boss trigger?
A: <see below>

  • #1 Adjusts the length of the pull of the first stage
  • #2 Adjusts first stage travel
  • #3 Second stage adjustment
The Boss trigger is quite tricky to set up for the first time. I suggest you try applying some pink/blue Loctite on the screws and start with the #2 screw to get the total travel length you desire. After that, you adjust the second stage to your liking.

Regarding the trouble with the main valve, I would suggest you contacting your local authorized service center and have them fix the problem. It is most likely a valve seat that has unfortunately, gotten out of place.
