Idaho Ground Squirrels,
For our first outing with my son hunting ground squirrels, we ended up shooting 27 of them from 30 to 75 yards. We do not have a scope cam so we only have pics of the ones we were able to find after shooting a few of them and having them disappear. we would then go see what would find. My son had a surprise to have taken a non lethal shot on one and had to finish the job. That was a hard step for him mostly when the all skull came off and ended up with a wiggly de-cerebrated squirrel. That was almost the end of the day. He had a really hard time to understand that having a bad shot happens and that it is why you have to get your shots with a lots of respect and a good certitude for your hit as you can end up with a wounded animal. Having him shoot the veteran and me the cricket is a bad time for the squirrels.
