I will be done hand-pumping in 7 days!

congrats BOB O,,, really like your videos and look forward for new ones to come out,,of course you dont need me telling you,,you would being doing it anyways ,start looking for another air source of air,,,, MONTANA FTW said filling at his local police fire was fine ,,until one jack wagon put a end to it ,,it only takes one a hole to ruin it,,and with everybody sue happy ,i expect more fire or police will stop filling tanks for us airgunners, liability,,,,just keep on the look out for more air sources ,, congrats PAT

Congratulations Bob_O. I started out with a Hill MK4 handpump and started saving my pennies for a CF tank after I realized that pumping was taking the joy out of shooting. Finally got a new Great White CF tank a little over half a year ago and I've been more than pleased. Now my Hill pump sits in the corner collecting dust. I also agree with the others here that you need to find another source of air just in case or start saving for a HPA compressor.

I have to let you guys in on a little secret. At first I started checking local fire departments and they said they could and would do it for me but didn't have the ability to reach 4,500 psi.

Then I had the crazy idea to check with S&R to see if they fill their own dive tanks, and sure enough they said they did. So here's the secret.....I used to work with these guys for many years.

I showed the deputy (my friend) what I was looking at buying, and he said no problem with the valve/fitting and up to 4,500 no problem. The tank should be here Friday. ?

Going to prep the hose (attach the female foster fittings) tonight and test it out on my Benjamin to make sure it all works, no leaks at the fittings, etc.

Then take it into the field tomorrow! We just got 20 inches of snow in the last two days (just stopped snowing) and the farmer told me this morning that the starlings are going crazy at the farm.

So that's where I'll be tomorrow morning!

The adapter works great. My first too off lasted me a month (a lot of shooting). Then the last three top offs came a lot quicker.

I got topped off today after only a week and about four fills. I mentioned to my friend that I thought there might be a slow leak.

When he filled it, I heard a faint hiss coming from the gauges area. He sprayed it with soapy water and there were bubbles around the tank pressure gauge. One little snug (1/32 turn?) and it stopped.

So I should be good for a while.

:)
