I was skeptical but now impressed soo far😃

I broke down and ordered me a hatsan gladius from Midway for 595$ to my door and man I'm impressed at the quality for my sub 600$ gun.i haven't got to shoot it yet as I just opened it up 2 hours ago but man all my fears of an inferior product just went away.😃
I have had a edgun r3m and a cricket carbine which were both sweet guns and top quality but both are 1300$ plus new compared to my gladius at 595$.i don't expect the gladius to shoot as well, you know Apple's to oranges comparison but man for the Money soo far its gonna be hard to beat for the money.ill get some pictures up tomorrow.i went with the gladius due to the lower cost and it not being a nice wood.i was soo afraid of scratching or marring up the edgun or cricket that I didn't shoot them near as much as I wanted.ill have no issues teaching my nephews on the hatsan as I was on the edgun or cricket for fear of them hurting the wood.the hatsan just feels tuff and solid .
I'll have to order the fitting for the fill probe, does anyone know what I need?
Thanks

I'm only a plinker not a hunter but I can say that the gladius is a hefty beast if you have Kermit the frog arms you might want to pass on this one.😃
Lol the shipping box said 23 pounds,i thought no way but then I picked it up and yup she is heavy.
That's 23 pounds with the hard case and all the items hatsan supplied with the rifle.the rifle itself is a little over 10 pounds I believe.ill only be bench shooting no carrying through the woods for me😀 so weight is no issue.

I'm glad to see that somebody else took advantage of the Midway sale. I had been looking at the Gladius all year and ordered a short 22 when I saw the prices at Midway. I put on an old scope I had and when I sighted it in at 25 yards it was the first time I have ever had a hole-in hole shot. 3 times. I own 9 rifles, 2 other pcp's and 2 piston rifles. I was so impressed I ordered a 177 long at a lower price. It should be here on Friday as well as 2 new Hawke scopes. I like 22's but I got the 177 because I have started to shoot at some of my club's events and they only allow a maximum of 20 FPE. I have been using my Talon SS but when I tune it down under 20 FPE with a 16 grain pellet its not as accurate as when it is shooting in the 850 FPS range. I was sold on the reviews, features and cost. I bought 2 for what most bullpups cost. Yes it is heavy, but it is easier to shoulder than my Marauder, plus 90% of my shooting is from a rest. I'll post pictures and info in a separate topic after I get them set up.

Congrats... I am thinking about returning my Benjamin Marauder .25 and then either get the Gladius, or the FX Indy... Anyhow, I am happy for you.

Just a update ,I just got done shooting a bit(nearly 1000 rounds)
about an hour ago.i left the house with my gladius in .177 topped with a 6x18x44 vortex crossfire2 scope and several different pellets along with my new unused chronograph which by the way I didn't get to use because I forgot it used a battery, lol my bad.
I was shooting at exactly 50 yards on power level 3 for all of the pellet types and here's my results.

Crossman 7.9 grain hollow points (sub dime size almost pellet in pellet)
Crossman 7.4 grain destroyers(3 inches plus grouping)
Crossman 7.4 grain pointed pellets (1.5 inches groups)
HN exciter wad cutters(5 inches groups)
Swiss army pointed pellets(1.5 inch groups)
Clear winner was the crossman 7.9 grain hollow points.6 bucks at Walmart for a 500 count tin.

I was shooting 4 mags before any noticeable poi drop off before topping back off to 200 bar .
I'll do some chronograph testing later today I hope.
I'm loving the gladius soo far.
Thanks

Ooh yeah, this was straight outta the box from Midway no tuning or cleaning of the barrel totally as it arrived to me.

Ginuwine1969Dodge, typically dome pellets shoot the best groups and air arms and JSB's are notoriously accurate so if you get a chance give them a shot. My RWS really likes RWS super dome pellets too (.177).

Lol , I'm actually trying to find the cheapest and most easily accessible pellet that's still accurate to shoot which seems to be the crossman 7.9 grain hollow point at the local Walmart for 6 bucks per a tin of 500.:)

Here's some chronograph numbers.:)

These numbers are out of the box, unsorted pellets,no barrel cleaning or adjustments to the gladius what so ever just as the rifle came to me.
The crossman 7.9 grain hollow points were very accurate at setting 3 and produced about 12.5 fpe at about 840 fps.
I'm still learning my Caldwell chronograph, lol not bad at 70 bucks worked great for me .
