I need Ernest Rowe's help for impact's problem!!!

Dear Ernest,

My Impact is .30, and the barrel is 600cm, as the picture show, i broken the cocking pin, and then Edosan sent me the video link as bellow, which introduced how to fix it.so i followed the video, made the pin and installed successfully, unfortunately, after 10 shots, the pin broken again, i thought it may be the pin's material is not strong enough, so i made the second one with titanium, and also installed successfully, and after 10 shots, again it broken... i am sure i closed the cocking lever every time before shot!!!!!

dear Ernest or anybody, who knows what's the problem? and please let me know is there any solution?

The cure to this problem is not in my basket I don’t know much about titanium’s attributes other than its light and strong. But could the heat generated on the lathe when you made it taken the temper out of the metal. This is a uneducated guess on my part but it’s where I’m leaning.

that is a good theory! I remember Ernest told me once ... you can do it in a lathe, just spin it very slowly-.

Thanks Haut2007, I really missed one ball when i received the gun, do you think it is the problem? i made one ball myself this afternoon, the size and Hardness is not exact same because i can not find the same material, but i use the impact only with one ball when it broken the pin.I have changed the reloading rod length to 45MM as what Ernest said in video.

made the third pin today, unfortunately, it was broken again...

I think the missing one ball and incorrect reloading rod length caused pin broken before, is it possible the too tight spring?

it looks the only way is replace the A10 part, anything else can cause this except the balls and rod length? i want to ensure it really works when replaced A10.

More information, my impact barrel is 600cm, and wight of pellet is 48 gram, all the three pins works fine when the speed is lower than 230m/s, when the speed is higher than 230, the Pins broken, it looks the problem related to the spring(because i changed the power wheel to increase the speed), and may be related to opposing forces of shooting.

You mean 48 grain? 48 grams is too much! ;) (740gn!)

That should not be a problem on an impact considering a 51gn pellet. Is weird that pin does not take too much force, unless when you cock come out of place somehow, you need to carefully check it and see if the block is seated ok, there is something going on there. are the hammer and spring original? what gen is your impact?

Ernest mention: "At 1st I used 3 different harden pin they ended breaking after 100+ rounds after 1K the titanium is still going strong."
