I learned my lesson

I went cheap and regret it.

For those of you using china gold filters think twice. First use in my gold filter and the cap blew out the threads.

Reached over to turn it off at 4300 psi and almost died. It blew up right next to me, the cap was inches from my face.

that is terrifying, happy to hear you are ok. hopefully no injuries?

somebody here, or one of the amazon listings for these also had a similar failure with the large gold filters.

also a good reminder for us all to always have eye protection on!!! i was admittedly pretty relax with this until i had a pressure disc blow. scared the living crap out of me. but what if it wasn't the burst disc? i would feel pretty silly living blind for 40 years if i know i could have prevented it.

Wow, you were lucky. That is some thin wall piping used, where did you buy it.? The ones that have been recommended by @humdinger and myself look like this. Look at the difference between this and yours. Night and day. I’ve had the Tuxing and Xin Yong Shi brands and both were heavy duty 7075 aluminum with thick wall piping. ID should be about 1.375”.

You can tell that one hole is the cap with foster.

Well done!

Like a Wile E Coyote silhouette through the wall.

I get so frustrated when I see keyholing
