I have the honor

Of taking my 2nd nephew on his first Airgun Deer hunt and hopefully his first deer ever.

To me it's truly a great honor and privilege and I hope that the I Lord will bless us with a successful hunt

Well unfortunately it was a bust it rained cats and dogs on the lease today and with the front moving in the deer just stayed bedded down.

We tried to do some hog hunting last night but he was up that morning at 5am poor guy was falling out of his chair when 10 pm came around.

He still had a lot of fun and we got to talk a lot about hunting and at least I hope he learned some about deer hunting.

I will say this for a ten year this kid can shoot!!!! He was putting that .308 through its paces. keeping his shots within 1 inch of my shots and when I say within I actually mean for the most part right on top of mine. It takes him longer to get a good sight picture but that's just because the gun is to big for him.

We are already planning his next school break

Willie, you know … it's not all about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. It's so much more than that. It's about development and style and character. It's about you caring enough to take time from your busy life to spend with a young fella going into a time in his life that can be very confusing and sometimes a little scary. It's about bonding, both of you being smitten by the beauty, bounty and variety of nature in God's world. Nature, by itself, can give you some great clues about what God is like. Everything in nature has it's own character and ways, just as all of us are intended to have our own character, ways, values and ethics. Sean was meant to be what noone else is … to have a unique, one of a kind, indivisuality about him which cannot be found in anyone else. He needs to grow, become strong and to be taught all of life's lessons. Some lessons can be really tough for a young fella to understand … like being at peace with who you are on the inside. I've heard it said that it is better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you are not. You are not a better person because you are praised, nor are you any worse off if someone denigrates you … you are what you are! And when a young man struggles within himself, he becomes an item of great value and worth. Because what lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are small matters indeed compared to what lies within us.

To mentor this young man, to be his friend and councellor, to make him part of your life and share your thoughts, life and insights with him benefits you both. He gets to see and understand the time tested wisdom of why you do things the way you do … and you get to see the world through the fresh eyes, insight and wonderment of youth. I would say you both are extremely fortunate to have each other.

Aleichem Shalom

Likkitysplyt, Thank You, Sean is a great kid I haven't seen my nephew in almost 6 years so it was a very special time for both of us, He is coming back on Christmas Break I am going to do my best to have everything set up this time at the lease.

Sean is a surprisingly shy fella and very quiet but before he left we both were rolling on the floor over a prank I played on my sister (his grandmother) that sort of backfired and got him too. We had decided after not getting a deer to try for some feral pigs and I have calls loaded on my phone, I also have some Bobcat calls and a very very loud bluetooth speaker, I couldn't resist...…. My sister tried making a new door and my nephew jetted out of his seat dukes up ready to box. ….. After my sister got through threatening me to an inch of my life she asked Sean if it scared him, His Response " I think I pee'd a little" .

After that the shyness was completely gone and he has already threatened me with a equal payback

Barukh tihyeh Willie,

That is precious, I almost peed a little too! And pray tell, what was ole Willie doing while all of this was going on. Let me guess, rolling on the floor laughing your head off!?!?!?

Ya know, I think you two are gonna be just fine, don't know about your sister though. Your strange sense of humor may make her a candidate for an early cardiac seizure.

Just keep on keepin' on and all will be well, your sense of humor and enthusiasm for hunting will cover many a mistake. Add a little love for family and you have the makings of a wonderful life.

Shalom berakhah vetovah Willie

I do not know the proper reply to yours, so I will only say strength and blessings to you and yours.

But no, my sister is used to my twisted sense of humour besides trust me she is MUCH crazier than me.
