I gotta do something with this HW98, it's a bloody scattergun

So I went ahead and pulled this into the target analyzer. Here are the results:

First there is not enough data. We need to see you shoot something like the ten dimes challenge with that rifle to be certain of what it is doing.

Your rifle is not zeroed. Your groups for all three targets are high and left a bit. After you zeroed on your 25 yard target you shot the following aggregate group.

I am assuming 1/10 clicks on your turrets.

You can see here that the CtC is about 15 mm and your zero seems to be about (assuming a mil/mil scope) 1 click high and 2 clicks right. This is an acceptable group just slightly smaller than a dime CtC (17.91mm). It could not be covered by a dime but it would be close.

On your 50 yard target I found this aggregate of 4 groups which you shot. There were some stray shots which I discounted because they were widely separated from the groups. CtC was 62 mm and your zero looks to be about 3 clicks right. You were holding off with mil dots so elevation means nothing. This is 4 times as big as your aggregate at 25 yards BUT there are 4 times as many shots in the group. So we should expect it to be a better representation of what the rifle really is doing. We need more data at 25 yards.

At 75 yards we don't have enough data again. Impact is a bit low but you were holding off on your targets so that means nothing. Impact is 25 clicks left and about 10 low. Group size is about 104mm. That is about what you would expect with the aggregate you shot at 50 yards.

Bottom line here is I don't believe you have proven here that the rifle really IS shooting that much better at 25 yards. Shoot 5 five shot groups at 25 yards or do the ten dimes challenge and post that target. Lets find out what that rifle really can do at 25 yards before we say it is shooting well at that range. It LOOKS like it is doing well at that range but prove that it is before you move forward. You may yet find out you need to work on finding the right pellet for the rifle.
