Yeah, I was trying to get a pick of the groundhog but, couldn’t find it and mistakenly clicked the turtle that was in my yard after the floods a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, that’s why I edited. Noob

My dog would catch them all the time. They would curl up in a ball and play dead then my dog would carry it around for a while in her mouth. That's how I learned what the term "playing possum" meant .

They don't cause us any problems and my wife and I actually enjoy watching them so they get a free pass.

I like em.

I do not like the and they take the chickens. But here the possums are safe my wife likes them.

For those of you with chickens- possums will happily kill and eat your poultry. 

It’s a shame that you feel the need to kill just because you don’t like them. Do yo know that they are one of the only two marsupials in the USA? Cool fact - They are practically immune to rabies. 

For our different view points on possums alone, you probably wouldn’t like me too. I guess I am fair game for some target practice by your standards.

I hate them with a passion they crap all over between my wood pile & shop . Yes they do good on insects & other stuff but if I get the chance so sorry . I had to let one pass last night because I left my light on the scope after I got a big racoon last week . Actually I was after a racoon that I spotted on my security cameras and he vanished then came across the possum now that I think about it all I had to do was turn the brightness up on the wicked light to find my cross hair . Need more hunting experience at night I guess-- Good Job Flintsack

If you own chickens, they’re a problem. If you own horses, they are a huge problem. I don’t own horses anymore because the damned things bankrupted me, so I leave the possums alone now. But they still give me the willies. 

I don't like them either,but I trap them and let them go on a island near me; same with Raccoons and Skunks ... I caught a Raccoon that had a reddish taint to it,very mean looking and he snapped at me,I had to put him down as he could have been carrying some kind if disease.Yes I am careful.

Mike they clean up pretty good, What's their temperament? I usually give them a pass. Occasionally I'll pop one, their smacking when they eat drives me over the edge.

Possums get a pass.... raccoons on the other hand definitely do not. They clean out my feeders and if I forget to lock up the chickens for the night the raccoons help themselves to a chicken dinner... sooo they gotta go! 

If you own horses, they are a huge problem

 

What do they do the horses? My neighbor has a half a dozen, the possum was about 50 yards from his horse

pasture. 

He had been digging my yard all over the place, and making holes.

They carry Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis. If you had ever spent thousands on a stud fee just to watch a foal die of this, you would hate them as much as I do.
