So I'm minding my own business browsing the classified section on another airgun forum and trying to outsmart my dog , when I see a Diana75 for sale.A beautiful classic springer with a flawless pedigree. I had one for a short time but was scared poopless to work on it . It is supposed to be insane hard to get working if you mess with it so I didn't TOUCH IT . Any way this guys gun has been tore down into a hundred pieces and the guy ( Ken P. ) got the new pistons fixed up and got tired of jacking with it and trying to put it back together and just wanted it gone . Been there before on many half done projects , so I know his pain ......Anyhow I'm thinking , No way I want any part of this headache, A gun thats in pieces ? So just cause I'm bored we start talking and I hear his story and we have a few laughs .
This dude has in his possession what is by all accounts a gun that is WAY over complicated and only a damn NUT would wanna fool with such a potential soul crushing project .. But he's Canadian and I like the way his voice sounds so we keep talking and talking , and the more he talks to me ...The more I think my barely functioning ass can actually do this . Put back together a gun that can't be reassembled unless you REALLY know what you are doing ...I can succeed where better men have failed ..... I can right this wrong , I can save this classic rifle from the trash pile ..I can be the type of man Chuck Norris would be proud of . I'm feeling more powerful with every word he speaks .
Ken has a cadence to his voice and as I'm listening, its intoxicating, I begin to think that I could be such a man ! A man with skills and knowledge .
He has me convinced my semi-retarted ,ass vould actually pull this off !! So I tell him with my new found confidence " Box it up , and ship her my way " I'm feeling good , I'm feeling basically Invincible ....Ain't nothing I can't do ......,..
Fast fwd an hour or so after the transaction went thru on Paypal and his spell has started to wear off . I feel a little light headed and fuzzy about what has just transpired ...This tricky Canadian sucker has me thinking I can do this !!!! He's a Hypnotist !!!! Its the only explanation that makes sense ... Anyone that has ever met me in person realizes how stupid I truly am .. . It took me months to learn how to post pics here .....What the hell was I thinking ???!!!! This part time carnival hypnosis wizard cast a spell on me . I've got a big box of screws and gizmos heading my way and I'm in a full blown pee on myself panic . This is IMPOSSIBLE . IT CANT BE DONE ...I more than anything just want to be held and told everything's gonna be alright ......
So guys don't be a sucker like I was . Save yourselves ...Avoid Canadians . They are slippery as February snot . And by all means DONT TALK TO ONE ON THE PHONE you could fall under a similar spell !! It happened to me , it could happen to you . I'll keep you guys posted as this no doubt tragedy gets here . Ken P. you sir should be ashamed of your self .

Come on Joe, everyone knows that you can't trust people that say things like "what's all this aboot eh?"

Sending money to Canada (aka "diet America") is no different to sending cash to those guys from Nigeria that send out spam emails offering you a share of their multi-million dollar fortune if you can only send them $5000 now so they can access it...

Going forward eh, it's probably better for you to send me all your money for safe-keeping eh so you can ensure it won't happen again eh...

Thanks guys , I'm looking forward to having the gun in front of me ..Schematics are always intimidating and sin e its a project piece I'm not rushed . And her Robert it has a nice stock , but I'm gonna refinish it ..I'm this close " in holding two fingers very close together" to asking Wadcutter if he will swap an assembly job for a stock refinish :) But before I do I'm gonna give it a whirl . Ken took plenty of pics and I honestly think all the real work is done . I just gotta put it together . I'll keep y'all posted , I figure it'll be here about this time next week or so . I've got a stock job and a 300 sporter rebuild to keep me busy till then.
this STILL DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT THAT CANADIANS ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED !!!! I'm just spitballing here but maybe we need to ask our congressman about TWO walls instead of just one ??!!! Its just a thought . lol

I heard that they decided that it wasn't going to be cost effective to wall off Canada because there is only 7 people who live there. Instead, they were going to build a wall around each Canadian to keep them out and to stop us getting any ideas about wanting free healthcare over here. The project should be completed some time in 2019.

In the meantime, everyone should keep an eye on their wallets and avoid internet purchases like this.

I really want that stock pattern though. I wonder if anywhere sells just the stock.

I've done all kinds of measuring on the D75HV stock.....the normal D75's have the butt stock hollowed-out to much to be able to cut one to the exact dimensions for the adjustable cheek piece. The stippling is a little different at the pistol grip on the 75HV than on the regular 75, but it probably wouldn't be noticed.
You would have to fill the void in the butt stock and then cut the cheek piece free.....but I am going to try it.
The spacers for the cheek piece are solid pieces of what looks to be ABS plastic and have a couple of holes in them to allow the anchor bolts to pass.....the individual spacers are then screwed together as a stack into the cheek piece.

I didn't realize that there was so much "hand finishing" on the D75 stocks, they are all a little different in the shape and stippling around the pistol grip area.
