Hybrids first hunting trip!

Got out of work this morning to late to go deer hunting so I headed to my sister's farm for some tree rats and to try out the new hybrids on some thicker skinned critters!

Longest shot was 72 yards on the big gray one and the rest were between 30 and 50.

Not a single pass through on any of them but stone dead on impact!!! These things hit hard! Limited in about 2 hours....😋

Interesting, are there allot of black squirrels where you hunt ? Back in the 1970's I actually seen on a couple occasions a albino Grey squirrel.

Used to be just the big red fox squirrels around here but a few years ago someone released a few blacks from farther up north and they took off like wildfire...now we have every color under the sun. I saw one this morning that was solid black with a bright red tail but couldn't get a shot in it.

Nice hunt there and test for the hybrids. Did you take any with body shots and how fast did it take them down. I would be interest to see the expansion on a body shot. Looking forward to getting my order of the hybrids. I see now that PA and AD show they won't be in stock till 02/05/20. I put my order in a few weeks ago so I hope I get mine sooner. Bill

AirgunBill,

Yes the gray at 72 yards was a side chest shot and he hung on the side of the tree for about 20 seconds and dropped straight down ! Loud thump on impact ...my sister swiped up those squirrels so I have no recovered slugs yet but next hunt I'll be sure to get those in the post.

Thanks Rooster!

Ive Got about every goody you can find on her and it's my pride and joy for small game. Will be interesting to see how these slugs do after I beef up the power!

I'd love to see recovered slugs from real quarry!

Especially with some info to understand real life expansion:

▪Muzzle velocity and range to quarry

▪Did it hit bone or not?

▪Expanded size

Thanks! Excellent shooting! 😊👍🏼

That sounds really cool looking. Somebody should make some kinda bag or something out of the skin. There wouldn't be many like that around.
