HW97 Going Long

It’s been a hectic few weeks. Between normal work and setting up my wife’s new store, free time has been non existent. Was able to squeeze an hour of plinking in and what better way to de-stress? Grabbing the HW97! 5 shot groups at 60,73, and 102 yards on the tins.

Wow! That is awesome shooting; especially from a springer. Great job dude. I’ve always admired the HW97 but I have yet to shoot or own one.

Today was better than usual. Normally 1 1/2” groups at 60 and I’m happy if I keep all the pellets on the 4” square at 73 and 102. My .22 HW97 is my favorite rifle but this .20 is creeping up o. The title

I am fortunate to own four 97s I have tuned using Vortek kits, in .177, .20, and.22. I also own AA Pro Sport and TX 200s.

Though the AA rifles are beautiful and shoot well, if I could only have one it would be the 97 in .20. All of my 97s hold POI incredibly well compared to my other Springers and are absolute tack drivers. The .20 is dependable, i easy to load, and is deadly accurate with consistent < 3/8” groups at 20 yards and +/- 1” groups at 50 yards.

Amazing, nice shooting. Consistent. The 20. cal. is the only 97 I don’t have, but will get along with a HW98 in .20 when available.
I noticed your scope forward over breach. Does it not interfere with loading? Crow

Thanks all for checking out the post.

crow, it doesn’t interfere for me at all. I’m used to loading from the sides thanks to the TX’s
