HW77 vs. HW97 ?

I’m trying to decide which WEIHRAUCH to buy as my next springer. I could care less about noise suppression and actually prefer the clean look of a barrel without a suppressor. Am I correct in assuming that internally/mechanically, these two models are essentially the same rifle ? One just having a suppressor and absence of open sights ?

Look back about a week and you will see a review post I did on a .22 77K special edition recently purchased from AOA. I own 97s and now 77s. I think I actually prefer the 77 though they are all a joy to own. I also own Walther LGU master and varmint hunter series Rifles plus a Diana 56. The 77 is by far the best looking and finish detailed rifle. Out of the box and with 10 shot groups it is +/- 1/2” at 20 yards and and +/- 1 1/4” at 50 yards.

Thinking it is capable of even better performance, mine just arrived at John Thomas’s yesterday for a custom tune. I will post a before/after review once it returns.

I hope this helps.

From what I'm told the 95 is the equivalent to the 97 w/out under lever cocking.

I have become a huge fan of Weihrauch Rifles. Between these 2 I would get both. However, I don’t shoot iron sights, and actually like the “clean looks” of the HW97K better. So, if it’s only down to one, I would get the 97.

Currently own 2 97s. May get a 77 one day, even if just to shoot 2 liter bottles at 15 yards 😂

So, my advice is: Get the one that looks better to you.

I really love the open sights on the HW77, I have the HW97BL as well, and 97KT. I put a Williams peep sight on the HW77 and then removed the front sight blade and installed the hooded front sight from my HW50S . You must use heat to get that screw out of the front sight blade to then use the dovetail. Also the 77 has a longer barrel than the 97s.
