HW44 Shoulder Holster?

Gone are the days when I could walk into SWFA, Dicks, Academy, or Cabela's around here and look at an Uncle Mike's display of 100+ holsters. I would love to find a shoulder holster for the HW44 for easier carrying while hiking, but Google can't find a thread anywhere about a solution. I'm wondering if an old Thompson Contender version might work.

Has anyone here ever found, made, or altered a fit for this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the lead Hapo. At least with a model number it's a place to start. That's why I mentioned that I miss the days of the big Uncle Mike's displays in the stores. I can always take the silencer off if necessary.

...should fit with it...???...the issue I had was the AP16 was not wide enough to support the snap...

...@ 17" OAL (12" AP16 Compact w/ 5" Tanto) I still had 2" + to spare...

I used to be an avid handgun deer hunter and I have one of these. Once you get used to carrying a large handgun with a sling you will probably find you prefer it to a holster. I carried it over my shoulder muzzle forward and rest my arm on the gun holding the sling with my hand. Just an alternate suggestion

Hapo,

My fear has been that I may have to find an oversize Uncle Mike's and then stitch it to fit. Again though, it's knowing which one to buy to even start. They're not good about posting dimensions. I miss my old saddle maker. He could have made a rig for this in no time.

tigerhunter,

That's a nice rig. I had that same scope on a stainless Ruger .22 pistol years ago. I did contemplate something like that, but would like a holster for protection from the elements, etc. if I can find one. If not, then using something like these to attach to the picatiny rail I suppose is an option:
