I've been searching all over, and couldn't find anything about replacing the leather seal of a HW 35, have any of you guys done this before? Thanks in advance!
Leather seals are not used in modern airguns much (if at all) but are worth replacing IMO. Here are a couple articles I found with a Google search"DIY leather piston seal"
I'm sorry, maybe I didn't explain myself right, what I needed to know is "how to take the old one off to replace it for a new leather seal, thanks guys
I looked at your earlier post-from what I see it appears that the slotted disc is threaded to the piston. The post in the center has male threads and the slotted nut female. Try grinding a notch in the widest screwdriver you can find to make a tool to unscrew the slotted nut. You'll likely need to gently clamp the piston in a padded vise-use as little clamping pressure as needed to keep the piston from turning, you don't want to crush it.
Thanks John, yes I tried that at first, but nothing happened and didn't want to break it if I was doing it wrong. But now you said it I'll give it a try again to see what happens. Thanks
