HW30S or Walther Terrus

That’s really a crying shame. I pray you get it eventually, it is a very nice gun, you will love it. I think the wood was a smart choice too.

Yeah, over here they are almost toys. You can literally go to a Sporting Goods store in your neighborhood and walk out with one (Gamo or Benjamin). I think you have to be 16 years old and be able to pay for it is all.

Everything in life is relative though. In my native country (Cuba) you can’t even buy one, period, end of story. I think some people do have them, special government permission because they compete, Olympics, etc.

...lots of guys sure love those hw30 / r7 rifles.... the guy i placed orders with at ag's of az said it was his favorite (non-pcp, crazy expensive) airgun - and he had access to most everything. says he hits whatever he aims at. not enough power for me - 650-700 fps ? i just use hot-rodded co2 carbines for that ... and the 30 is too little for me, too. i would much consider the hw50s / hw99 for backyard scenario - i bought one from nhat that he had put a vortek pg2 kit into and upgraded to a setback trigger.... it's awesome - 820 fps area (11-12 ftlbs) ..... gave it to the guy who let me shop for 2-3 yrs. he was 10 for 10 tree rat extraction. he's never looked back. it's his go to gun , and his back yard is more like 20 yards. i was sure needing one of those hw50s - they are still on sale (sort of) : https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/spring-piston/weihrauch-hw50s-hunter/ ........... i called umarex when those walther terrus rifles came about , asking of the barrel quality and trigger. they said it is a lesser trigger than lgv / lgu - and i kept seeing them selling for 99 bucks maybe a couple novembers ago. then i see lots of people selling them now - but idk.... at least you could use .22 in that gun - the hw30 too slow in 20 and .22 . ---------- you know what you might possibly consider there ? a uk webley longbow in either .177 or .22 . -------- hard to find because they are awesome and superbly well made ! uk longbow / tomahawk trigger is as good or better than rekord . i wish i liked 12ftlb guns back when i was selling webleys. saw a walnut minty one on brad's for around $450 last yr , but i bet if we really desired one , we could ask our brittish airgunners for help getting one here. i could even suggest that the dang turkish longbows would be as good as the terrus . they had stupid one piece cast metal gold trigger blade - single stage and heavy. later they used the quattro trigger . accurate little carbines, tho - walther barrels. ran around $150 when i was wholesaling them . they were no comparison to the uk made rifles - fit , finish and function was legendary. these and the xocet rifles were great , too : http://www.airguns.net/classifieds/show_ad.php?adNum=175825&adSort=search&StartingAd=0&NumberOfPages=1 - cheers.

HW 30

Sorry about your state of affairs down under. I can't imagine many people being mass murdered or killed with a 6fpe single shot, break barrel, HW30 pellet gun. But the government knows best. If it wasn't for them looking out for us we would all have died years ago.

On another note the HW30S is a great rifle and worth the wait. Just sorry you have to wait.

I received an email yesterday afternoon advising that the importers have communicated with the gun shop and my new HW30 will be here at the end of May. Only 4 weeks to go, I’m stoked.

On another note in March I purchased a Hawke Airmax 4*9*40 for my HW77. I put this brand new never been used scope on one of my ZR mounts and onto the HW77. Been shooting very accurately until one day last week, never needed adjustment. Poi was off that morning by a couple of inches, adjusted the elevation and it wouldn’t move up or down and windage was diagonal instead of sideways. Go figure and on a ZR mount as well. Anyway the new one arrives today, too bad it’s raining.

Duckfish, you do have a beautiful HW30. It’s a lot nicer looking than my R7. You may want to consider moving closer to the safety. From what I’ve read a peep sight is more accurate the closer to the eye it is. I agree that shooting a HW30/R7 is a blast with a peep sight...

With the setup I have in the pic I'm using a large apature. Where it's located it gives me a nice sight picture in low light situations. When I use a smaller apature I move the rear sight further back. And yes the longer distance from the rear to the front sight decreases error. It's also harder to line up if your shooting offhand.

I doubt that the government knows best! And yes the HW 30 is a kick in the pants!

Well, that sucks! The Airmax is one of those scopes that I really like. I like the reticle, the illumination on it, and that it's supposed to hold up to Springers.

I've owned several Hawke scopes and they all have held up. I have had three go bad and Hawke replaced all three at no cost.

Good to know, thanks for the feedback!

Not long to go now. Received a message yesterday that Weihrauch have advised the gun shop that the consignment should be released some time this week. It appears that our Weapons Licensing Branch is snowed under with people importing Gell Ball Blasters, realistic looking toys. Consignments are stuck at various airports. Realistically I’m probably looking at next week though. Happy days.😊
