HW30S or Walther Terrus

I’m getting rid of my 177 Np, killed it’s last scope and I’m tiring of constantly going through the routine of cause an effect on accuracy changes. So I’ve narrowed my choice down to one of these two rifles. I own an LGV and a HW77 and am amazed at the accuracy of these two rifles and the fact that it’s constant.

Ive studied the specifications on both. I’m leaning towards the HW30S as I want a plinker that if I feel the need I can shoot all day and not be tired at the end. I also want a rifle that when It is it’s turn for a week of shooting ( on rotation) it can humainly take a pest bird at 30 metres.

Does anyone have both these rifles and if so can you share your thoughts and preference please.

Gary

I have both.

While the Terrus is well built and Fantastic for the price, for the intended use you have outlined,I would suggest the HW30. It has a better stock, trigger and internal components. Krale has a great price on them however it's such a nice shooting little rifle...You might even think of getting an "upscale" version such as the laminate stocked version, ect. You will Never regret the extra money spent vs the Terrus.

Trust me on this! (You can thank me later.LOL!)

Here in Spain they are not there, I even wrote to wheireauch and they told me that it could not be.
For the time being, I work like this ...

Zeus, me parece que la compañía Americana Airguns of Arizona tiene un trato esclusivo para proveer esos stocks.

Gracias por eso amigo.
Voy a ver si me puedo hacer con una.

I don't have both of the guns you mentioned but anytime the HW 30 is one of the considerations, it will get my vote.

These guns are a joy to shoot, super accurate and are quiet enough to be shot just about anywhere. Right now you can buy the R7 elite combo from Pyramyd Air ( 2 of my 3 R7's were bought this way) for less than 400.00 and that's the best deal around. IMO anyway. I spend whole days shooting my HW30'S and R7's on a regular basis.

Beautiful rifles Brislee. Thanks to all for your thoughts and advice. I’m going with the HW30S, unfortunately I can’t purchase an air rifle from Krale or Pyramid Air. Our laws in Australia say I have to first apply for a permit to acquire (pta) and that I can only purchase that rifle from the gun shop I include on the pta.

There is a dealer down south of Brisbane that sells Weihrauch and that’s over 200 k’s away and our local dealer sells them also but he doesn’t have any in stock and that could take up to 2 months to get here. I’ll ring the guy south of Brisbane on Monday and if he has one in stock I’ll start the process. I’ll provide a update when have a better idea. Thanks again for your help.

I just got a reply to “ how’s my rifle going “ from the gun shop. Seems the importer is now advising that it won’t arrive till mid May. Another 7 or so weeks, bummer.

Gary

Dang! So do they import them from Europe after you put in the order or what? The dealer doesn’t keep them in stock? We are talking about a readily available rifle, not a new release.

The dealer only had one in stock but it had the synthetic stock. Dumb ass me wanted the wooden stock. What I’d read on this forum is that you guys are very lucky as you can order a rifle and get it in a couple of days or it’s in stock in one of the big airrifle stores. Christian I had this same problem when I ordered a Diana 56th Target Hunter. I waited three months only to find out that the dealer had stuffed the order up. I also waited 2 months for my LGV.

In my experience most gun shots only sell a particular brand or two and you need to find the dealer that sells the one you want. Unfortunately in my case I have to wait, 5 weeks have gone already, what’s another 6 or 7 when you are looking forward to the plinker you want. I only hope it won’t turn out like my Diana experience.
