hw30 open sights

mine is a couple of years old, iron sights, check AOA

Mine is iron sight. I don't think they use the plastic fiber front sight on the HW30.

Suggestion: if you get an HW30, consider adding an aperture rear sight (perhaps a Williams or, a bit more spendy, one of them German jobs like a Centra. Much fun on an HW30 IMO.

I got a used hw30 from AOA and i ordered a rear Williams rear sight. I think my hw30 is my favorite

Over in Europe the HW30S has iron open sights, and what is sold as HW30 (no S in the type designator) has fiber open sights.

No, I wouldn't say the OEM sight is low quality at all. But it is placed at the breach as opposed to an aperture sight which is placed at the the rear or the compression tube. This makes the sight radius longer, increasing accuracy.

Also, the OEM rear sight is a "notch" type sight. An aperture sight offers several real advantages (such as parallax supression but now I'm above my pay grade!) that make for much superior non-magnified sighting.
