HW100 with Open Sights.....FWB 124 Frankenstein?

So......I put a barrel from an FWB124 Sport on my HW100. I planned to check the accuracy and make sure some things were going to work out before I turn down the FWB's sight grooves to thread the muzzle for a moderator.

While I had it together, it occurred to me that I had never seen an HW100 with open sights, and i happen to really like a good aperture sight setup. So I swapped on the old "ARH stamped" rear peep and front sight from my FWB124 and it was a perfect fit! Feels great and sights up awesome!

Just screwing around, thought I'd post a couple pics if anyone cared.

Decided to add some sound suppression. I didn't want to turn the barrel OD down to 1/2" to thread, since this often times will relax the choke. So I turned the OD concentric to the bore, down to .600", bored out the DonnyFL moderator base to match, heated and press fit it onto the barrel. Also bored the internals of the mod to register on the barrel's OD. Now I have a solidly mounted moderator, that's easily removable for cleaning.

As a side note, the factory sight grooves are still usable, I just have to heat and pull the moderator base and rotate the barrel up to put the grooves at the top. Easy enough.

And it seems to shoot pretty good. Here's a full magazine (14 shots) at 25 yards. The other groups weren't much bigger if any. That'll work for me.

It likes to be clean though, fliers show up after about 100 shots. A quick pull through with a couple of tight patches seems to restore it. This barrel is ancient, I'm sure it could use a good polishing inside. I didn't do anything to it but pull a patch or two to get the chips out.
