Huntsman Regal Xl- Nielsen slugs???

Anyone tried that combo in .22? The Nielsen website says that they have had success with factory Daystate barrels, but wondering if they need to be pushed faster than what the XL can do. Have read reports of XL's in .22 doing well with 18 & 21 grain pellets... the slugs are available in 19 & 21 grain weights so... seems logical that slugs of similar weight could perform well. Make sense, or wishful thinking???

Considering a Regal XL HR in .22 (already have the non-regulated XL in .177). Leaning more & more toward the slug route (especially for hunting), so figure I better get the scoop for any future rifle purchase.

Tried the 15.5 grain slugs in my .177, with so-so results. Accuracy wasn't terrible, but not in the same league as it's favorite pellets (Baracuda Match 10.65). Not terribly surprising; I think they're just a bit much for the rifle.

No mud on the slugs though- they're remarkably consistent in size & weight. Might be just the ticket for a rifle that can be easily tuned to push them harder. Still hoping the 19 grain .217 slugs will do better in the .22 Regal XL HR that should be arriving later this week. They're not much heavier than the JSB 18.13 that seem to do well for most in the XL, but a much better BC.

Still have ~70 of the .177, if anyone out there is interested in trying them send me a PM.
