Hunting Video & Rule #1

I hate when I do stuff like that, and it happens way too often. It feels like I need to take a check list with me. Let's see, did I remember my brain, did I take my head out of my ass... Well, okay then, take the shot.

I do have to say, I very much enjoy your videos! They are about hunting, and I don't feel like somebody is trying to sell me something.

Thank you,

Eamon

I just did it a few days ago, and that extra loud pop is so insulting as the starling flys off. Let me take it a step further...recently I was focusing on a group of starlings and opened the lever on the already cocked gun. So I just pulled the magazine out and set it on a stump, closed the lever and took the shot...then I walked away without the magazine, put the gun in the house. Next time I shot it I got the loud pop again... and had to look for the magazine for a good hour before I checked the stump. It’s not age or forgetfulness...it was gusty winds that caused the problem.

Yeah like I said I know I'm am not alone here with taking a shot and not having the magazine inserted. The main issue for me is not liking to have a pellet or slug in the breech and then having to trust the safety to do the job with the possibility or maybe moving it off safe. I know there is at least one airgun maker that has an anti double load feature which would be great to have or at least a way to insert the magazine without having to load a round first. Bill

I too have shot through a mag on my Vulcan and lined up a great shot and all I got was the rifle farting at me. My dad had a saying and it goes something like this “Dumba-sheet”. Well you folks understand...Then of course I put the empty mag in my pocket then realized I didn’t put extras in my pack and the walk of shame back to the truck starts....
