Hunting Raccoons

Hi Guys,

I'm a newby here trying to learn as much as I can before I purchase my first gun. First of all it will be a PCP and so far I'm pretty much looking at the Hatson brand for my first gun to keep pest down on my mini horse farm; mainly Raccoons, Coyotes, Foxes, and Groundhogs. I'm looking at the AT44S-10 .25, the BT65 .25, and the flashpup .22. Of these 3, which do you guys think would meet my needs the best.

thanks.

Hatsan had one last 30 cal refurb bt65 elite qe left the last time I checked it out. I owned the bulldog and I can attest to its capabilities. I think a coyote under 50 yards with the proper shot placement to vitals would be easily done with the bt65 30. I plan on shooting coyote with my 25 cal slug gun. It's an airforce condor with ringlock system. It throws 49g slugs out 1000 fps and its not even turned up all the way. As a pure pest control application you are dealing with I think the airforce can't be beat. The ringlock allows you to control the transfer port size and between that and the power wheel you can really tune it from 500 fps to 1200 fps using any wieght pellet you want plus lifetime warranty. Hatsan is a great company however and if you want a powerful gun that is also a multishot you can't go wrong with Hatsan. My next gun will be a hatsan. I'm looking at the vectis 25 cal.

I hunted them with a AT44S-10 .22 for a long time.with a scope she is heavy but a solid platform.

If I had went. 25 I woulda went long..25 I recommend going stright to the bt65.

Bt65 will offer more shot count and power but....more weight. With my AT44S-10. 22 tuned to shoot 21 grains at 900 fps it's a good 20 shot gun hitting with some power.Headshots are great for coons with the smaller calibers.I take them out to 80 yards.Shot placement is key.with a 14 grain pellet I would not shot them past 30 yards.

My .25 caliber bullboss does the job better at 46 ft lbs but nothing compares to my benjamin bulldog.Currently set to 246ft lbs with 158gr ammo and 1" groups at 50 yards. The coons hate it.
