Hunting License ?

Seems like it may not be a good idea for a poacher to post evidence on the internet for the world and law enforcement to see.

Saying you know someone who poach or you poach is not evidence. so I say I killed a person is that evidence I killed someone without any proof or evidence? Where's the deer, the body? That's the evidence. Plus even if they say they do it or know someone who done it. It's years ago. I know a cousin who 10 years ago as kid we would shoot any animal on his property with a .22 lr. He lives in the country side so we can shoot his .22lr all day long with no problem. Also people that do, do it on their land and they do not know the law about hunting on private property. So any animal that enter that land is good to shoot. I'm against poaching and hate people who go out and take illegal aniamls. But if say animal enter their property I don't mind whatever they do with it.

I'm a hunter so I always buy a hunting license to kill animal. I believe shooting any game animals or even pest required an hunting license. But most people you see on YouTube and on here shoot rabbit, pigeon, dove, birds, etc. I doubt they have hunting license. But they shooting on their farm and property. So they can kill any animal they want since no game warden is gonna come on private property. I know some people who shoot deer out of season and with no tag or license cause the deer enter their property.

What you believe and what are facts are two different things. See my original post just above yours I quoted. MT does not require any kind of license, permit to shoot the listed species I have in that post and they can be shot 360 days a year in MT. I have no problem if someone posts a video and it clearly shows unlawful taking of game and people jump them and turn them in. I do have a problem with someone accusing law abiding hunters/pesters of taking game illegally even after being told the local laws. You are accusing many people including myself who lawfully take game of doing it illegally out of pure ignorance on your part.

Airgun vids filmed in Montana? Who? link?

Was begining to think I was the only airgunner in the state.... (Ok, know that s not true, but the guys I do know of are couple hours drive away)

Dan I think you already know im a MT airgunner as we have had a few conversations. Unfortunately MT is a big state and the few MT airgunners are spread out a bit and dont get many chances to shoot together. I am fairly busy in summertime with camping and other things so I dont get many chances to try and meet up with people. Our first grandson is 2 years old and as soon as he can learn to shoot airguns you can bet I will have him out shooting so that will be one more MT airgunner.

According to the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks website, a Recreational Use License is required to hunt nongame species on state lands.

That is correct but thats not a license or permit thats required for shooting non game animals. Thats an access license that allows you to enter private property. If you want to hike a trail on state land, hunt or smell flowers you have to buy that permit giving you access to state land because its private property not public property like national forest land. If you buy a fishing license or hunting license you dont need a recreational use license because the fee is included in the conservation license required to buy a fishing license or hunting license. So if you dont ever buy a conservation license to fish or hunt and you plan on using state land for anything including non hunting/ shooting activity you will have to buy that permit. I rarely use state land since theres way more national forest land but I am covered thru my conservation license so I am legally hunting/pesting contrary to pigeonmans belief that we dont buy licenses or need them for all shooting of animals.

My original statement still stands that you do not need a hunting license or permit to shoot non game animals in MT. The license for state land is for access and recreational use of state land not a license for hunting, fishing or shooting.

I saw the video you are eluding to. Let me ask you a few questions. Do you know for a FACT that the shooter doesn’t have a license? Do you know for a FACT that he is hunting illegally? Do you know for a FACT what state he is hunting in and the laws of that state? And then for others of you to ASSUME some people who post videos are doing so out of season and without proper licensing, is total BS. Making false accusations, is total BS.

I enjoy all of the pesting and hunting videos that a lot of these guys post. They put a lot of time and money into these videos for us to learn from and enjoy. If I found out for a FACT that it was done illegally, I wouldn’t watch their videos anymore. But without the FACTS, you are nothing more than another internet TROLL. This is not what our sport needs these days.

Droptine, no I do not know for a fact that the person does not possess a license. Yes I do know the State and I skimmed (skimmed) thru the hunting regulation for that State. I do not know if there are any EXCEPTIONS to the regulation pertaining to shooting this game animal. There probably are but I did'nt delve that deeply looking for the exception rules.Regardless whether the shooter has a hunting license the animal was shot out of season. The shooter, being a non-resident may be unfamiliar with the hunting /shooting restrictions of said State. As for what the sport does'nt need. Are people irresponsibly blasting away at anything that moves.

I'll say that in general people in this community are really responsible and specially when posting videos on YouTube, think about this, in YouTube people are exposing themselves so I don't think they are posting something that is a big NO NO, but well, we have all sort of people.

I'm a YouTuber and I hunt (The iguana hunter) and I don't have license, but do I need one? I only shot iguanas and here in Florida is the pest of the pests... https://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/nonnatives/reptiles/iguanas-and-relatives/green-iguana/ check section Can I remove iguanas from my property? at the bottom of the page...

Also I don't believe HeyU was trolling, was a good observation IMO and also I think if indeed the video was violating something, this comment could help if the author is reading so next time they pay more attention to this. To me is best that one us call it out than the law...

Anyway guys, keep it cool!

Thanks for this post!

As a certified computer - technology idiot you might want to check out a video on YouTube by Amazing Polly "You are being groomed" aired today 6/19/19 Just some food for thought by someone that got a ticket for speeding thru a work zone at 3 AM while my friend was doing the speed limit on the highway but not for the un-manned work zone while borrowing his brothers EZ pass.
