Hunting after surgery?

Squirrel season just began last month here, and rabbit season will be starting up in near a months time. The absolute worst time for me to have a hernia that requires surgery. But as crazy as it might seem I still intend to go hunting after about 2 weeks of rest since both are pretty light species, and I have a P-rod that I can use rather than my full sized rifles.

What I'd like to know is has anyone else been crazy enough to do the same after a surgery? If so I'm open to hear any kind of tips or tricks that'll make it easier on me out in the field.

Remember every step you take away from your vehicle is one you will have to take back,
tell a bunch of people where you are and when you plan on returning,
have a cell fully charged with you.
******* take a buddy along with you just incase ******** best advise
keep a first aid kit on hand or handy.
stop at the FIRST sign of discomfort...
leave a note in your windshield with your contact info, when you left, when you will return, what surgery you just had, your direction of travel or hunting area, how far you plain on going, how many people are with you ext...

We use to do these things when we went caving....

Also God Forbid if you don't make it back which I hope every thing goes good for you; Can I have Your guns?

I had 5 hernia surgery's.. First time I was in the hospital for a week, 1974. the last one I was done as out patient, they have come a long way with very little opening. My first one and second they split me open pretty good, the reason for the long hospital stay.. You will be fine. Its not always the lifting. First 2 times I pulled my plum from a slip, if it pops out which is your intestine and that was my first one, you need to get done ASAP. Good Luck. Think positive and Good Luck
